Description

Connall O’Daire has spent a lifetime mastering the art of abandonment. To distance himself from a brutal, blood-stained legacy, he walked away from the only person who mattered—his fated mate, Soren—and retreated into a fortress of solitude and iron-clad control. He convinced himself that living in the shadows was the only way to keep the world safe from what he is, and what he comes from. But fate is not so easily silenced. When four men—Quinn, Isaac, Elias, and Kaian—cradle their way into his life, Connall’s carefully constructed walls begin to fracture. Each connection sparks a volatile, magical heat he can no longer ignore, threatening to ignite the fragile life he has built. Worse, the ghost of his past, Soren, has resurfaced, refusing to let the rejection stand. As sinister forces gather to exploit his vulnerabilities, Connall is forced to confront the impossible: can he shed the weight of his past to embrace a future he never thought he deserved? The Paths We Choose is an intense, pulse-pounding exploration of desire and duty. It is a story for those who believe that love is not just a destination, but a courageous, dangerous choice.

5 STARS

THAT ENDING THOUGH???? Yeah no, Remy I need book 2 IMMEDIATELY because what do you MEAN you’re leaving me there? This is a dark paranormal omegaverse romance about a man who walked away from his fated mate years ago to protect him from the violent life he was born into… only for fate to drag him right back into the orbit of not just one mate, but an entire pack of men who slowly become everything he never allowed himself to have. Add dangerous magic, mafia ties, rejected bonds, found family, and six traumatized men trying to figure out how to love each other without destroying themselves in the process? I was DONE FOR. Also before I forget: seeing a glimpse of the Rhodes Pack from the Fated in the Stars series made me SO HAPPY. I love those babies and I absolutely love when interconnected worlds actually feel interconnected. Now onto the actual emotional devastation. The way I became INVESTED in the lives of these six men should genuinely be studied because I am OBSESSED. Irreparably attached. Mentally unwell over them. Every single one of them brought something different to the pack and somehow they all fit together PERFECTLY. Connall?? Brooding, self-sacrificing, convinced he has to carry everything alone while actively falling apart inside. Soren absolutely broke my heart. The rejected bond pain??? Sneaking around to basically stalk Connall? EXCUSE ME?? Isaac was such a sunshine sweetheart and I wanted to wrap him in a blanket and protect him forever. He is SO…

Has potential to be great

ARC honest review: This one was a struggle for me to get into just because it’s a slow build up to the plot that still didn’t get anywhere at the end of the book. It does end rather abruptly and the rejected mates theme doesn’t really hit rejected mates for me. I really enjoyed all the characters since it is hard to find MM+ omegaverse pack books plus the humor. But overall not a fan of this one. I enjoyed this authors other books and I’m sure this series gets better as it progresses.

An omegaverse story you dont wanna miss out on!

First of I wanted to say this is my first time reading any of Remys books and since this series is part of a Interconnected world from both the Crossroads series and The Fated in the Stars series i will go back and read those series at a later date when I got time to read them. At first this book took me a few days to read becuse it were a writing style I were not as familiar with but if we look past that this story were really good. Walking away from his fated mates we're one of the hardest choices Connall O'daire ever made, but it is the choice he does as his life as a mafia - criminal leader he see no way to bring any mates into a life that can threaten their life's but when he one day meet his fated mates during a meeting with his cousin he gets cold feet and runs away and this is where the story starts without spoiling the plot of the story entirely. This is an action packed story about fated mates, dangerous situations and broken back stories that will make this story into a emotional rise worth reading. The characters chemistry is really well woven into this world that feels living and mystical with some really great twists that keeps the reader deffently on the edge of the seat the whole way trough this story. This is a highly recommend story that I think anyone that love Omegaverse stories should read becuse i promise you this is a story you dont want to miss out on and I can't wait until the next book comes out becuse I need to know what happens next, as this…

So so good

The Paths We Choose is the first book in The Crossroads Series. This could be read as a standalone but in my opinion this book is best after reading Fated in the Stars series. I couldn't put this book down once I started it. This is the story of the Crossroads pack. In this book the pack is being brought together by fate. The pack members we meet are Connall, Quinn, Isaac, Elias, Kaian, and Soren. I enjoyed this rollercoaster ride of emotions this story brought out. I loved the characters and continuing world building that we learn more about. It was great getting cameos of some of the characters from the Rhodes pack. I loved the plot that we start learning about. I'm not going to give any spoilers but I will say there is a lot of angst in this book. The story does end on a small cliffhanger but I expect that from Remy Bishop. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book as a 5 star read.

I want more!

I loved this book! I’m so excited for the rest of this series. Even though it’s set in the Threads of Fate universe, it’s a completely different story. The characters are all so unique, and their backstories are so deep that the author could probably write a whole separate series just on them. It leaves you wanting more and I can’t wait for the next one. Great job, Remy Bishop!
