Description

As the newly ascended God of the Dead, the weight of the underworld rests entirely on my shoulders. Las Vegas has transformed into a gilded battleground for Egyptian deities, and it is my solemn duty to maintain the fragile peace between my power-hungry brethren. In a city driven by hedonism and divine ego, showing a sliver of vulnerability is a death sentence. Then, he walks back into my life—reborn, dangerous, and utterly forbidden. Aaron is no longer the man I once knew; he has been turned into a vampire, and his existence is now shackled to Seth, a ruthless god hell-bent on tearing down the current order to claim absolute dominion. To my agony, Aaron is the ultimate weapon in Seth’s arsenal, used to taunt me at every turn. Even worse, Aaron has developed a reckless streak, throwing himself into the line of fire as if to prove he is no longer the fragile human I once swore to protect. The stakes have never been higher. I am caught in a lethal tug-of-war between my duty to cosmic order and my desperate, all-consuming need for the man who remains my only true weakness. Loving him might ignite a war that threatens to swallow the world, but letting him go would be the final, crushing end of me.

Dying for Death was absolutely worth the wait!!!

I was so excited to get back to Vegas and see how everything with Timothy and Aaron played out, and this book delivered on every single thing I’d been craving. The side characters are, as always, wildly entertaining. The dialogue is sharp, funny, and full of that chaotic charm this series does so well. The slow burn that’s been simmering through the whole series finally explodes here—achingly sweet, unexpectedly tender, and hot enough to melt the Strip. Timothy has been a delight from the very beginning, and this book lets him shine in the best ways. I adored Aaron too; he’s always that perfect pop of color and fun, and together these two are just… magic. Watching Timothy loosen that rigid control and actually live a little was everything. Also, I’m not going to lie: seeing Seth get his ass kicked was deeply satisfying. He earned it. Truly. I loved this story from start to finish. Now someone tell me, where do I get my own reaper?

thebibliophiliclycan book review

I love this series. I've read every single book and bonus material available. However this one just didn't hit as hard. Don't get me wrong. It was wonderfully written and it was great to learn more of the story. But this particular story just wasn't as good as the others. Not much happened in the book. The few events seemed drawn out and not very exciting. Despite knowing it was about half the size of the other books it still just seemed like it was beyond short. It felt like a couple bonus chapters with bonus chapter events. For everything leading to the battle with Seth the battle was over very quickly. (The reaper dogs taking part was awesome though.) Absolutely loved that Timothy has a reaper dog (Assirak.) who stays with him. I'd like a novella about the reaper dogs. Maybe how they came to be and serve. I really don't like Timothy. He's loyal, , intelligent, nice, etc. But I can't stand people who push away their love because they are afraid of getting hurt or afraid of hurting them. It's not just their decision to make. He's a goody goody (a stickler for the rules who follows them blindly) and that often leads to unnecessary misery. Yes, Timothy finally gained some confidence and embraced his love for Aaron. Him getting there was not my idea of an enjoyable read though. I am over the moon that they are finally a couple and Aaron can stop being tortured by Timothy's rejection. Aaron deserves to be loved fully and unconditionally. The sex scenes are MM. In my opinion…

Finally

First off, Timothy is an idiot in love and there were a few times I wanted to smack him on the back of the head. (Still love him, though.) Secondly, Aaron, as always, is sexy and adorable. How he could be both at the same time is pure talent on Holly's part. Love, love, loved this. Amazing addition to one of my favorite series. I have been WAITING for these boys' story for SO LONG and it was well worth the wait! I am so grateful to have been selected to receive an ARC of it. Thank you again, Holly!

Frustrating but yay for Timothy and Aaron

I always thought Vivian should have turned Aaron into a vampire. While I love the world and Holly, this book didn't hit the same as the others. Numerous times I was annoyed due to appeared inconsistencies only for them to be explained away a few pages later. I was so excited for Timothy and Aaron to get together that I was surprised at how aggravated I got while reading this book. Timothy was incredibly frustrating for most of this book and Aaron wasn't much better. Thinking on it, it is probably very in keeping with their characters. Overall, decent but nettling read.
