Description

London is a city of shadows, soot, and dangerous enchantments, and for Evander and Viggo, the stakes have never been higher. Following the explosive events that bound them together, the mage and his brute must navigate a treacherous landscape of shifting loyalties and forbidden power. Their bond is a fragile sanctuary against a Victorian world that would see their magic suppressed or stolen, forcing them to rely on one another as the lines between protector and partner blur into something far more profound. As they struggle to find their place in a society teeming with secrets, a new arrival named Leon complicates their fragile dynamic, testing the trust they have fought so hard to build. The chemistry between the stoic, iron-willed Viggo and the brilliant, vulnerable Evander remains the beating heart of this series, offering a slow-burn romance that feels as genuine as it is intense. With rich world-building that reimagines the gaslit streets of London with a magical edge, this installment expands the scope of their journey while keeping the focus on the intimacy of their connection. It is a story of resilience, hidden magic, and the undeniable pull of a love that refuses to be broken.

Magical Fantasy with a MM romance

This is a well written fantasy series and I love the alternate magical Victorian era London setting, and the lead characters Evander and Viggo are complex and compelling. Supporting characters are interesting as well. There’s wit, non stop action and lots of magic, and the story is briskly paced. Loved them!

M/M Romance and Mystery

Great 2nd book in the series. The story of Evander and Viggo (and a former lover of Evander's) solving the mystery of missing thralls was interesting and engaging.

Fascinating

Continuing on from book one, I could hardly stop reading. Complex but consistent world building. The addition of Leon was a nice touch and it was good to see how he and Viggo found peace with each other. Very much looking forward to the next book. Wondering just who “I” can be and what happens next. Highly recommended.
