Description

In the sweltering, shadowed streets of historic New Orleans, the past never truly dies—it only hungers. Warren Hayes, an immortal trapped in the isolation of his own cursed existence, has spent a century navigating the cold ache of eternity. He is a man haunted by the weight of his soul, terrified that his very nature is an affront to heaven. But his stagnant world shatters the moment he meets Levette Fortier. Levette is a breath of mortal fire in a life defined by ice. He doesn't look at Warren with the expected fear of his kind; he looks at him with a raw, desperate hunger that matches Warren’s own repressed desires. As their forbidden connection deepens, the pressure of a repressive society and the looming threat of spiritual damnation weigh heavily upon them. While Warren grapples with the morality of his tether to immortality, Levette is ready to abandon the promise of salvation entirely if it means spending his remaining heartbeats in the arms of the man who owns his soul. This is a haunting, atmospheric dance between darkness and desire. It is a tale of two souls finding sanctuary in the beauty of the damned, proving that eternity feels like nothing without the one you love.

Tropes

Immortally Yours is such a well written story! Billie James makes you think deeper than the shallows with her soulful storytelling. I.Y. Follows two men in an harsh era where being attracted to anyone of the same gender meant you were an abomination—a death sentence in most cases. Warren—had he not been given the path this story takes him on—would have been one of those unfortunate souls. Thankfully, we meet the charming, alluring and willfully seductive vampire, Levette or Levy as Warren calls him 🥹 Omg, i absolutely LOVE him. He’s blunt, straightforward and a complete slave to Warren, the altar boy. Their story makes me think of the spiritual battle I have faced. Am I too flawed and surely damned or am I forgiven and saved? Though this book is absolutely NOT a religious story—not with those hot scenes—it still gets you right in the feels. Bone deep and in such a way that this story of a human man weighted by his mortality and the lonely vampire jaded by the church sticks with you like nothing else. Huge FIVE STARS. I love Billie and her poetic writing. I can’t wait to read more.

Immersive experience

This book drew me in so deeply that I was fully immersed in the story. The pacing gives you time to actually connect with the characters and puts you through the emotions where you can actually feel and sit with them before being tossed to the wolves and losing sight of all the nuances. Without giving too much away... This book includes: ✨ MM ✨ Slow Burn ✨ Vampires ✨ Angst ✨ Time span of decades through letter excerpts So if any of the above are of interest to you, give this book a chance! I hope that Warren and Levy draw you in and don't release you even after the book is over.

One hundred percent addicted to this gothic mm vampire romance!

Think Interview with the Vampire but way angstier, way sexier, a whole lot more heartbreaking, and hella entertaining in that blood lust kind of way and you get this gem, which has just skyrocketed itself to the top of my favorite vampire reads list! It’s got grit, it’s got bite, it hurts, it’s love and hate and loathing and longing, it’s a whole dang saga of sin and breaking and crashing against each other and it has you completely entranced the entire way through. It’s got the characters, Levette and Warren are fantastically multi-faceted and give you the opportunity to both hate and love them, it has the drama and the complexity of politics and ancient vampires, I am all over the side characters because Lena and Ria’s story is going to make for one killer read to wrap up this duet, and it paints a vivid picture of New Orleans, how destructive faith can be, and the slippery slope that blind obsession can lead to and I am one hundred percent addicted!

Love and Damnation

I give it 3.75 ⭐️ This book had a dark and emotional atmosphere. Warren and Levette’s relationship is intense, messy, and filled with longing throughout the story. I really liked the gothic New Orleans setting, the religious trauma themes, and seeing their relationship develop across different time periods. The letters added even more emotion to the story, and I liked how much focus there was on love, guilt, faith, obsession, and the struggles between them over the years. The story also explores loneliness, morality, and what it means to choose love while constantly fighting against fear, faith, and damnation. Thank you so much Billie for letting me be a part of your team.🌺❤️
