Description

The emotional journey of the Lost Boys reaches a shattering, high-stakes crescendo in this powerful second installment. Picking up the threads of the tangled lives and fractured identities introduced in the first book, the narrative dives deeper into the complex, soul-binding connections between the protagonists. As the walls between them begin to crumble, the pressure to navigate their shared trauma while embracing their evolving desires pushes every character to their absolute limit. Jessie Walker weaves a masterful tapestry of yearning and restoration, centering on a group of people who are desperate to find belonging in each other. The prose is remarkably evocative, capturing the visceral honesty of their intimate bonds and the profound evolution of their bisexual identities. What sets this volume apart is the palpable sense of soul—a raw, aching vulnerability that makes the reader feel every triumph and heartbreak alongside the cast. As the boys fight to overcome the shadows of their past, they discover that healing isn't a destination, but a choice they have to make together. This is a story of resilience, the intensity of chosen family, and the courage it takes to finally give in to love. By the time you turn the final page, you’ll find that their journey has become etched into your own heart.

Will and Way are absolutely everything!

1st person/dual pov Spice: 3.5/5 After how Book 1 ended I knew this book would start out breaking my heart and I wasn't wrong. Things have to get worse before they can get better right?? I mean it's cool, my heart can totally handle being emotionally stabbed repeatedly before it's all stitched back up, no big deal lol. It's the way the roles each character seems to have established in book 1 do a complete 180 in book 2 that had me even more emotional than I thought I could be. Where one guy would chase and the other would run or push away they now did the opposite. The runner became the one chasing and the one chasing is trying so hard to let go in an effort to keep his heart from crumbling into nothing one final time. It really captures how we as humans can only take so much before we just can't risk getting hurt one more time. On the other side, it also captures how we sometimes do not realize what's really important until we no longer have it within reach. Too often it takes losing what we didn't realize we needed to wake us up or to give us the courage to face our own truths. While it's certainly still sad and absolutely still a tear-jerker this book has a lot more healing than the first one in many different areas. The spice did step up a notch or two as well which let's face it I don't hate lol but it's still not overdone and it still focuses a lot on the connection and trust that's built between these guys. So many questions get answers and there are even a couple…

A satisfying ending

I’m so glad I stuck with this series, because If There’s a Way was a huge improvement from book one. The pacing felt much more balanced this time around, and while I still think the story could’ve benefitted from shedding some of the bulk, I found myself fully invested in Will and Way — I mean, I’m in love with them. Their connection, their growth, their story… it’s genuinely beautiful. Jessie Walker has created a world and a relationship I care deeply about, and the plot continues to be absolute gold. If book one didn’t quite land for you like it didn’t for me, don’t give up — book two finds its stride, and it’s well worth the read.

If There's A Way is the final book of the Lost Boys Duet, and concludes Waylon and Will's story. After a relapse, Waylon and Will find themselves at torturous odds yet again, and the book focuses on on both Waylon and Will's separate, but intertwined journeys towards healing. Subsequently, both boys do their utmost best to stay away from each other, but there's no pretending away the emotional rope that binds them. With every desperate touch, every traded truth, and every stolen moment, they slowly pull each other back together again, until once again they can no longer deny what is alight between them. "I can't fight this anymore than you can run from it." Is it even possible for a book to light your entire body on fire like this like the fierce, scorched earth blazing between Waylon and Will? I especially loved how hard fought and deserved their ending was; that not just Waylon, but Will weren't magically cured of their trauma because they found each other, but they battled each day to make it back to each other. "One day, I'm gonna hold your hand in public, and not feel like I'm dying when I do it." If There's a Way focuses heavily on healing from your past trauma and learning how to overcome shame, how to overcome your demons, how to accept and live with your grief. The book succeeds with verve in addressing the issue of internalized homophobia and slowly learning to love yourself, that "just because we break, doesn't mean we stay broken". These themes are of…

Heart-beaking, heart-mending, gorgeous end to this duet

I feel like we've been waiting for this book forever since "Where There's a Will" ended. Duets are tricky - especially when the first book is just that damn good. There's no way "If There's a Way" can measure up, right? WRONG. Y'all, this book knocks it out of the park. We pick up not too long after the end of book 1 and we find out very quickly what's going on with Will, Way and the rest of the Shiloh family. It's not easy, it's not smooth sailing and it's not always fun- but it's so damn real you'd think these people walk the earth. Our boys aren't done fighting for each other and the payoff is so well worth it as they finally, finally get the HEA they so richly deserve. "If There's a Way" will break your heart and put it back together again. The character growth throughout this book was beyond impressive, while still being realistic and true to the characters we met in "Where There's a Will." This book is MUCH steamier than the first book- there is nothing slow about the burn happening here! Jessie- I bow down to your talent. I cried at least 5 times during this book and really, really didn't want it to end.

Waylon & Will – the story of friendships and love 🖤❤️🖤

Waylon & Will – the story of friendships and love. If There's A Way by Jessie Walker, is book 2. The story about Way and Will continues. This time their roles are reversed. The book begins with the life-changing event for all the “Lost Boys”. A month later, everything has calmed down and the story picks up. There's a “monster” out there from Way’s life. Constant waiting and the suspense are killing, what will happen after he is freed. At the same time, Waylon knows what he wants now, and Will is not on board anymore. These two are breaking my heart through this beautiful story. Friendships are restored, some secrets revealed, and these two boys have significant trust issues to overcome. Again, I felt everything they feel, and I took my time to read this book. It's beautifully written, angsty and so hot. Even though there are topics (trigger warnings are in the beginning), which is very hard to read. I absolutely love Will and Waylon. They are so sweet together and their love for each other no matter what is amazing and what makes them so strong. I want more stories about them and hopefully, we will see Way and Will in the next books, in these series. Side characters also have their stories to tell, and I have no doubt these will be as good as Will & Waylon’s story. This MM story is one of the best in 2021 and 2022. Jessie Walker is one of my favorite authors and a one-click author for me. These books are - a must-read and I highly recommend taking a chance with “Where…
