First things first… Dark tale Book 1 of 3
I have read some of the low rating reviews and want to address a couple of those complaints. First is plot holes. I will say that we are given clues that foreshadow information that will be important as the trilogy progresses (at least I presume so). There is enough world building to give a basic overview of what type of multiverse the story is taking place in and the basic dynamic of the society. We are introduced to the main players and given glimpses into who they are. I presume those backstories will be fleshed out later in the trilogy. They are a society at war, so any perceived weakness is going to be exploited. If you’re looking for warm and fluffy, this isn’t the story for you. It’s dark, violent, and compelling. If you have triggers, this probably isn’t the story for you.
