Description

Hudson and Trey share a bond forged in the trenches of college athletics, a friendship that has survived the passing years despite the diverging paths of their adult lives. Hudson is seeking a spark to jolt his routine existence, while Trey—despite his professional success and polished appearance—is nursing a deep, quiet loneliness. When a long-awaited reunion trip turns into a frantic race against a treacherous storm, the two find themselves isolated in a remote motel with nothing but a single bed and the suffocating weight of truths left unspoken. The forced proximity ignites a chemistry that neither man can deny, threatening to dismantle the foundation of their long-standing platonic history. As they surrender to a long-buried attraction, the boundary between "best friends" and "something more" dissolves rapidly. Caught in a whirlwind of vulnerability and desire, they must navigate the terrifying reality of their changing dynamic. With the stakes higher than ever, Hudson and Trey face a pivotal choice: retreat to the safety of their old roles, or embrace the potential fallout of a romance that could either wreck the lives they’ve built or finally make them whole. This is a story of rediscovery, the courage to be seen, and the transformative power of love.

Reconnecting and finding so much more

I absolutely adored Trey and Hudson. I always love seeing real life diagnosis in books and even better when they are familiar with it because you can feel that in a story even if you don't have first hand knowledge of it. I hated the Hudson was so scared for anyone to find out about his diagnosis but I love how Trey took it in stride. Hudson was so sweet and so scared. I hated that even when the conversation needed to include something linked to his diagnosis he was still so afraid to speak up. Trey only wanted to know how to best support him. I do understand why he was afraid to be placed in a box or seen as less than he is. His mother definitely feed that fear. I loved and hated Trey. His obsession with his image and what others might thing really annoyed me. I mean seriously all of your friends have gotten together and they are all men. You are attending events for a wedding for two of these men. I understand it was new but also just wanted to smack him. However, I absolutely love him with Hudson. He is quick to take the information he learns and fit into what will work best for outings and even family events. I love the way these two slowly discover what they like and want. From a simple this doesn't have to mean anything to this absolutely means something and I want more. I love reading the awakenings and first times in stories like this. The spice helped move the story along and I definitely enjoyed it. I love seeing the other couples from previous books and how…

A heartwarming friends to lovers

I loved the romance between these two! It was so sweet. I love a best-friends-to-lovers. This was also a second chance at best friends and it was just so feel-good. I related to the neurodivergent struggles in this book and it made me feel seen in a way not many books have before. Can't wait to read more in this series!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Finding each other

I'm sure when best friends Hudson and Trey reunited after not seeing each other for awhile that it didn't involve them being stich in a storm thus being stuck in a hotel room with only one bed. They're definitely bound to reconnect especially with the weather and forced proximity on their side. Being in an enclosed space together also has them feeling things that aren't so platonic and they don't know if they're ready for that. Especially with each other. Yes they have friends who are gay and together but until now they didn't fit into rhat category. But there's definitely something there. Something real and raw and scary and they have to decide if it's worth risking getting hurt to go that step farther on this unknown path. Both men have their own lives and problems and things they're worried about but they eventually start to realize that they aren't alone. That they have each other and together they're incredible. I really love a good friends to lovers book and with so many fun and interesting other tropes and microscopes it made my reading experience stay with both men on this journey. Anorher great book to be added to this series.

Bi-awaking, friends to lovers

I have not read the other books in this series, and it didn’t matter. This book is about Trey and Hudson that had been friends but haven’t seen each other in years and re-connect. They fall in love but there is a lot of angst and drama for their happily ever after. I will say Hudson is autistic and his behavior effects the relationship, that can be tough to read. The two MCs have a lot of baggage that keeps them from having a smooth romance. There is a third act breakup but a HEA. If you like reading about flawed characters being their own worst enemy but finding love, this is the book for you. Story 4, Spice 3 I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved that Trey was so good for Hudson and didnt rush him. Thier love story was great. After reading this it made me want to read the other books in the series and get to know those characters as well. Really good read would definitely recommend.
