Don’t wait, READ THIS BOOK!
What a magical (literally) book! The way Milena McKay writes needs to be studied because it is an art to craft such a story with masterful language and exquisite characters like she does! I love that there is not one, BUT TWO pets! The setting is so immersive and the ending has you dying to read the next one. Don’t wait, READ THIS BOOK!

A fun read… really great characters… easy to get into. It felt fast at the end. Maybe I just didn’t want it to end….
Magical 5 Stars for McKay
McKay remains my favorite to this day. The heat was unexpected but perfection. The backstory, the betrayal, the chemistry, the revealed secrets and then the reunion… it’s just a masterpiece of a first book in this magical series. I cannot wait for more

A Milena McKay Class A Start to First Series
McKay gives us a completely self contained story, but also delves into her first 4-book (as planned) series.
Staying from her strictly contemporary settings that might have a touch of surrealism, she delves into Massachusetts’ witchy history continuing that duality of real/unreal but now with dreams/reality. Are they so different or are dreams quite real themselves?
Our main characters are sharp and complex with a stellar cast that will surely feature in the following novels. They are magnetic and spicy in what is arguably McKay’s most spicy romance to date for those who don’t count A Whisper of Solace.
Caution Warnings on her website should be heeded for those sensitive to that kind of material. The will to survive is strong but that doesn’t mean there isn’t generations of cursed magic in the iconic island of Dragons (of The Headmistress fame).
A true delight for McKay fans and a new genre mix that might appeal to new readers who want a touch of the supernatural in their “not for faint at heart” sapphic romance with plot readers.
Absolute stunner opening for the new series. Looking forward to the next.
A witchy of a great story!!
You can't go wrong reading a book by Milena McKay and this one doesn't disappoint! Rhiannon Crowhart comes back home to Dragons Island and Crow's Nest! She's inherited the Artelier from her deceased wife. She's also from the Crowhart clan of women (witches). Next door to the Artelier is the towns bookstore, owned and run by Prudence Fowler.
Centuries ago, the Fowler men did everything they could to name the Crowhart women of being witches (and many more innocent women), and put them to death in horrible ways. But one female Fowler risked her life to save Elizabeth Crowhart, only to perish.
Now, back to the present, Prudence finds Rhiannon fascinating.
This is a hugely interesting and sizzling story! A FAVORITE! Worthy of more than 5 stars!
