Description

Evie Jones has always preferred the safety of her carefully curated routines over the unpredictable chaos of modern romance. As a firm believer in the logic of spreadsheets and the reliability of solitude, she finds herself perfectly content—until a chance encounter throws her orderly world into a tailspin. Suddenly, Evie is forced to navigate an unexpected spark that defies every rule she has ever set for herself. Enter the irresistible cast of characters who challenge Evie to stop observing life from the sidelines and start diving in headfirst. Through a whirlwind of sharp-witted banter, messy mishaps, and genuine emotional vulnerability, Evie must decide if protecting her heart is worth the price of missing out on a love that refuses to play by the rules. Alexandria Bellefleur masterfully captures the exhilaration of rediscovering yourself through the eyes of another. This story is more than just a charming romp; it is a heartfelt exploration of identity, the courage required to be truly seen, and the messy beauty of falling in love when you least expect it. Whether you are rooting for the slow burn or the sudden combustion, this novel is the ultimate guide to embracing the beautifully complicated, truly, madly, deeply human experience.

a top read of the year

This is one of my top reads of the year, and in my opinion one of the hottest! There is just something about a romantic and a realist that hits so perfectly. Oh wait, throw in he falls first??? RIP me. The banter??? Unmatched. The tension?? Palpable. The healthy communication??? Stuff of dreams. The chemistry??? Electric. The amount of times I screamed out loud??? Too many to count. Honestly the banter in this book was kind of giving me “The Fault in Our Stars” vibes but without the emotional damage! I’m obsessed with the microtrope “she’s mean to him, and he loves it” and this book took it to the next level. Colin was a man obsessed, and literally on his knees begging for Truly. So hot! Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here with Truly and Colin living rent free in my brain for the rest of my life!

Wow-Worthy Banter

🦇 Truly, Madly, Deeply Book Review 🦇 🦇 Sparks fly when a lovelorn romance novelist and a divorce lawyer who has sworn off relationships agree to cohost a podcast series offering dating advice to viewers. As a bestselling romance novelist, everyone thinks Truly Livingston is an expert on happily-ever-afters. Unfortunately, she feels like an imposter after catching her fiancé cheating learning that her parents are separating. When she meets Colin McCory, she's anything but ready for a relationship, even if Colin drives her a little crazy. Okay, a LOT crazy. Can he change her shattered view on love, or are there no more happily ever afters? 💜 Excuse me while I shove my entire first into my mouth to squeal in delight from the absolute cuteness of this. For the record, I read most of this between 10pm and 1am with my girlfriend fast asleep beside me. I lost track of how many times I had to stop reading to silence myself before some giddy, disgustingly adorable, definitely disruptive sound of glee escaped my body to keep from waking her up. 💜 Now that we got that out of the way, why are we not talking about this book? You bookish bats LOVE asking about book boyfriends/girlfriends. Have you MET Colin? You need to meet Colin. Just, trust me. Listen to me. Meet this man. 💜 It's 2am as I write this all heart-eyed, with a fire alarm chirping across the house and a storm raging outside, and I don't care about any of it because this. WAS SO. CUTTTE. From the MOMENT Truly sets…

Cute

I enjoyed this. It was definitely a cute read and I would recommend this. But I felt like there was something missing I just don’t know what. Overall I did enjoy it even with its low rating but I’m neutral about it.

best romance ever (rereading asap)

Truly -pun intended- one of the best romances i have read. The banter was amazing and the chemistry between the characters was so raw and believable. The statement made about love and marriage and family were too perfect and well stated. And the pacing was brilliant with just enough banter and goofiness to keep you reading but a good natural rise and fall of conflict!!!! Love truly and colin so much!

loved it but had to take the 5th Star away

I ate this book up and in less than 24 hrs. It genuinely had me grinning from all the banter and what was going on. It was actually fun. For most of it, I couldn’t understand why it didn’t have a higher rating bc I though it was great! But to me, an ending makes or breaks a book. Here, the third act conflict is actually more from a subplot bc the main characters’ is about two paragraphs long so that can’t be it. Also, there’s a glaring contradiction from one moment to another in the FMC’s behavior (depending on who’s she’s interacting with) that really gets in the way of the credibility of her character. It just makes her a harder to pill to swallow and risks any goodwill you may have built up over her (though it’s also quite possible to simply not like her ever if you don’t give her the benefit of the doubt). Lastly, the main supporting characters disappear for the second half?? Anyway, the last 20% lost the book at least a star. But I left it at 4 bc I genuinely enjoyed reading [most of] it.
