Truly, Madly, Deeply: A Novel

This is one of my top reads of the year, and in my opinion one of the hottest! There is just something about a romantic and a realist that hits so perfectly. Oh wait, throw in he falls first??? RIP me. The banter??? Unmatched. The tension?? Palpable. The healthy communication??? Stuff of dreams. The chemistry??? Electric. The amount of times I screamed out loud??? Too many to count. Honestly the banter in this book was kind of giving me “The Fault in Our Stars” vibes but without the emotional damage! I’m obsessed with the microtrope “she’s mean to him, and he loves it” and this book took it to the next level. Colin was a man obsessed, and literally on his knees begging for Truly. So hot! Don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here with Truly and Colin living rent free in my brain for the rest of my life!

When she meets Colin McCory, she's anything but ready for a relationship, even if Colin drives her a little crazy. Okay, a LOT crazy. Can he change her shattered view on love, or are there no more happily ever afters? 💜 Excuse me while I shove my entire first into my mouth to squeal in delight from the absolute cuteness of this. For the record, I read most of this between 10pm and 1am with my girlfriend fast asleep beside me. I lost track of how many times I had to stop reading to silence myself before some giddy, disgustingly adorable, definitely disruptive sound of glee escaped my body to keep from waking her up. 💜 Now that we got that out of the way, why are we not talking about this book? You bookish bats LOVE asking about book boyfriends/girlfriends. Have you MET Colin? You need to meet Colin. Just, trust me. Listen to me. Meet this man. 💜 It's 2am as I write this all heart-eyed, with a fire alarm chirping across the house and a storm raging outside, and I don't care about any of it because this. WAS SO. CUTTTE. I enjoyed this. It was definitely a cute read and I would recommend this. But I felt like there was something missing I just don’t know what. Overall I did enjoy it even with its low rating but I’m neutral about it.
