This story follows Jeremiah and Ben.
Ben has been struggling to find his footing after losing his wife in a car accident over a year ago. He moves to be closer to his wife’s family on a whim after seeing a house for sale down the street from his SILs house.
Jeremiah is the free spirit neighbor who lives next door. He meets Ben’s son Luca through the hole in the fence. Jeremiah does yoga, pottery, massages. He’s “the jack of all trades, and a master of none.” He is content with his life until Ben comes in and wrecks it all, in the best way.
Ben hasn’t felt seen in a really long time. He hasn’t had a safe space to let go of all the pressure to keep his head above water for his son. Jeremiah (Jelly) provides this space for him. A space where Ben can talk about his wife, his grief, how he feels, what he wants, with zero judgment or expectations.
Their friendship is beautiful to watch grow. Jelly is the type of person you want to be. Kind, compassionate, funny, sweet. You can’t help but want to cuddle up with him.
Watching Ben parent Luca made me fall head over heels for him. He was patient, kind, encouraging and firm.
These were the two best MCs I’ve read in a while. I was kicking my feet, cheesing, crying over the letters Ben writes his wife! This is probably one of my favorites of Jesse and for sure one of my top books of the year so far. I had zero complaints except I wish I had more of them.
Also, Luca stole…

This book was so sweet & so fun. I absolutely loved Jeremiah. He had me laughing so much throughout the whole read. And Ben is the biggest Teddy bear. Their slow burn was flirty & such a great friends to lovers transition. I loved how Ben still held room for his wife he lost but allowed himself to fall in love again. The respect he & Jeremiah showed toward Liz was beautiful. I really loved that. My only complaint is that I wish there had been more around Ben’s bi-awakening. It was such a great slow build up of flirting & Ben realizing he kinda liked Jeremiah flirting with him but then BAM, he’s ordering him on his knees. It did feel out of character for the Ben we knew. I would have liked a few more chapters to get there. Either way though, I still loved it

What Do You Get When You Mix A Yoga Instructor with A Hockey Player?
Fireworks is the answer! The new neighbors just happens to be pro Hockey legend, Ben Stirling and his incorrigible son, Luna. They moved from Tampa to Seattle after Ben’s wife was killed in a car crash.
Insert clueless Yoga instructor, Jeremiah Blake, who brings coffee every morning to share with Ben and who befriends his son, Luna.
Include the nosy neighbors across the street, Ant Decker and Robbie McGuire from Poetry on Ice, a fence with a few glory holes, and hockey, you’ve got a romance in the making.
Full of angst and sadness, the reader accompanies Ben on his journey through the stages of grief. His letters to his wife are heartbreakingly sad at first, then somewhat humorous by the end of the book.
The audiobook is awesome! Liam DiCosimo and Tim Paige are excellent narrators for this series!
The character development is poignant and heartwarming. The bonus chapter is great fun!
This book would make a great movie! Just saying.
The perfect title to a perfect book
So the first book in this series is called "Poetry on ice". But I need to tell you this: The amount of poetry-laced writing in this book is ALL of the iceberg. Thats it. This book is pure poetry. The way Jessie writes about Bens' grief, and the letters sprinkled around the book is pure poetry. The friendship and love between Ben and Jer was perfection. The spice made me cry, the plot made me swoon, the story gave me hope.
There is something about these two books that lives rent free in my brain now, and that is all thanks to the amazing writing and wordmagic. I don't have the vocabulary to tell you how this book made me feel, think and understand. Its simply magic. This book is perfection, just as the first one. Both books are now on my top 5 of best books I have ever read within the MM universe, and Jessie has found her voice here. Let there be now doubt: this book is healing. This book is for all us mood-readers that cannot read a lot of angst, and just need to be soothed and be taken care of by the author. This book - and series - is my safe space. I have no controll over my highlighting notes, and nor do I wish to. This writing, this story gives me joy and left me full of love and closure. I dare you to not feel the same. Thank you Jessie for writing, thank you.

A Hockey Legend And A Bookish Yoga Nerd
This was such an amazing, sweet, slow burn, hurt/comfort book. Both characters are fleshed out so well, and I loved their chemistry as neighbors to friends to lovers. My heart breaks for poor Ben and Luca. They have had such a hard time, and Ben has been bottling it all up. Ben is such a strong sweetheart. Jeremiah is sassy, lovable, artistic, and understanding. He sees Ben completely and helps him through his trauma. He has been such an anchor for Ben and holding him together. Their love is so pure, and it grows steadily. The spice is slow burn, but when it happens, it's super sexy 🔥🔥🔥. That shower scene 😉🔥🔥. I loved the cameos from Ant and Robbie. Especially when they're spying on them across the street 🤣🤣🤣. Luca is such a lovable and funny kid as well. Seeing his relationship blossom with Jelly (Jeremiah) was so cute! Seeing these two get their HEA and become whole together was everything. That last letter Ben wrote made me tear up 😭😭. Jesse never writes a bad book, I swear. She has become one of my favorite authors.
