Description

In a kingdom suffocated by iron-fisted rule and ancient, blood-soaked folklore, Hellevir must navigate a treacherous path where survival is the only currency. As a woman caught in the gears of a lethal trade, she is forced to confront the chilling whims of a queen whose cruelty knows no bounds. This is a world where fairy tales are not bedtime stories but dark warnings, and where the line between salvation and ruin is drawn in shadow. Amidst the encroaching horror and the heavy weight of a crown forged in malice, an unexpected connection ignites. Hellevir finds herself drawn to the very person she should fear most, sparking a romance that defies the rigid expectations of medieval court life. This is a story of fighting for autonomy in a landscape of magic and monsters, where every touch is a rebellion and every stolen moment is a defiance of the royal decree. With its sharp blend of witchy intrigue, high-stakes combat, and a slow-burn romance that burns bright against the gloom, this tale captures the raw intensity of two souls finding each other in the dark. It is a haunting, visceral journey for those who crave a love story as dangerous as the magic that threatens to consume them.

Very good

I really enjoyed it. I loved Hellevir, even though I feel like she was way to apologetic, especially in the beginning. I haaate the queen. She is a waffle. I will say, though, I really enjoy this interpretation of Death. Although his appearances began to feel repetitive. Still, a great read.

Cool world building!

I liked the way necromancy worked in this universe, less of a zombie situation and more of a monkey’s paw deal with death approach that was really interestingly executed.
