Description

Miles’s life unravels in a single afternoon: he is suddenly single, homeless, and stranded without a vehicle. Just as he hits rock bottom, an unexpected lifeline appears in the form of Emmett and Cosimo—the father and stepfather of his ex-girlfriend. It is a wildly inappropriate place to land, especially considering they are a formidable, gorgeous couple who seem entirely out of his league. Emmett, a radiant avenging angel, and Cosimo, a stern, steel-willed cardiac surgeon, offer Miles a temporary sanctuary. But what begins as a simple act of kindness quickly evolves into something more dangerous and intoxicating. As Miles settles into their world, the boundaries of their relationship shift, revealing a dynamic far more complex—and welcoming—than he ever dared to imagine. Caught between his lingering insecurities and the undeniable heat radiating from his hosts, Miles finds himself drawn into a future he thought was impossible. As the lines of propriety blur, he is forced to confront whether he can accept a love that is as sharp, demanding, and tender as the men offering it. This final chapter in the Beginning of Always series delivers a heart-wrenching and high-spice journey toward an unconventional, long-awaited happily ever after.

Wonderful

My heart broke for Miles. Stuck in a horrible relationship because he thinks no one else will ever want him. Who knew lunch with his girlfriend's parents is exactly what he needs to break free. Emmett and Cossimo are just who Miles needs. Emmett is nurturing and caring. Cossimo is tough yet sensitive. Miles is who they need to finally feel complete. Wonderful book and a great way to end the series.

This was an expanded version of a story in an anthology. I loved the story in the anthology and this expanded version is even better. I recommend this story highly.

An end to The Beginning of Always series in a most beautiful way.

The Beginning of Always series by E. M. Lindsey will always be one of their best imho. Halo just lives in my heart. Tender comes very close and fits gently as the last book. The author is so good at finding the best places to leave their MCs in the end and Miles, Emmet and Cosimo are no different. A unique situation opens everyone's eyes, Miles is suffering and Emmet and Cosimo feel responsible even though they just met him. His deafness is not a problem because so is their daughter, however his suffering and who he is makes them offer him shelter. This living situation opens everyone's eyes to each other and it is a very hard earned HEA. However, one of the most rewarding I have read. This was an ARC read for me, I have put this review in my own words and really appreciate the read of this book.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed reading this story. I have been intrigued by the series for a while, and I had no issues reading this book as a standalone. I so wanted to take in Miles and give him someplace safe to just be himself within minutes of reading about his situation. His girlfriend (if you can call her that) was awful to him, and I was so relieved when he walked away from her. I wished that he wasn't basically left homeless because of her selfishness, but I was glad Emmett and Cosimo were there to help him. I can't imagine how awkward the whole situation was for Miles, but I was beyond glad that he stayed with them and slowly got to know them. Emmett and Cosimo’s relationship is multilayered, but they definitely needed and wanted a third person. It was easy to see how Miles and Emmett were going to be together and it was something they both really needed. I admit I struggled with how Cosimo and Miles relationship was going to form and fit with the rest of the dynamic between the three of them, but I think they found their way after a bit. I found the apology from Miles' ex odd and almost unbelievable considering everything, but I do think Miles probably needed that. I was glad that he was upfront about how he wanted to deal with her moving forward since she was still a part of Emmett and Cosimo’s life. All in all, a good read and I can't wait to go back and read the other stories in this series.

Loved

MMM Age gap Ex’s dads Deaf Trans Daddy kink Degradation kink This was a quick read. Kind of instalove or instant attraction kind of thing. Miles is a foster kid. And the trauma he had from never being adopted is deep. He aged out of the system and has been trying to make it ever since. His gf is pretty horrible. His friends and coworkers all pretty much hate her because of how much of a horrible human being she is. Miles knows he doesn’t love her but she wants him around and he just wants someone who wants him around. 😭 However it all comes to a head when he finally meets her dads. And they call her out on how horrible her behavior is. Emmett and Cosimo admit they have spoiled their miracle baby but never imagined she was as cruel as she turned out to be. Seeing how she was treating Mikes makes them cut her off until she gets some kind of therapy. They also take in Miles until he can get on his feet. However Miles ends up being everything they’ve been looking for in a third and they end up being everything Miles has always craved. The feelings 😭 I just wanted to wrap Miles in a big hug. In order for this relationship to work, they had to be super communicative but they all three had insecurities that prevented that at times. It felt very honest. In some books, they just become a throuple and somehow it all works out. This showed how some times those dynamics take a while to flesh out how it’s all going to work, how all the pieces fit (in the most non sexual way…
