Description

Myles has always been the fun, carefree uncle—the man who showed up for the good times but left the responsibility to others. That was before a family tragedy forced him to trade his chaotic lifestyle for the role of unexpected guardian to his niece and nephew. Now, overwhelmed and desperate to keep his head above water, he accepts a lifeline to the eccentric, enchanting town of Griffon’s Elbow. He goes looking for a quiet respite, but the universe has different plans. Enter Steven Barrow, a man whose world is meticulously contained within the walls of his cherished used bookstore. A recluse by choice and habit, Steven has built a life defined by safety and solitude. When a minor accident triggers a supernatural alarm from his own home, the house itself decides it is time for Steven to shake off the dust and reconnect with the world. As Myles and Steven gravitate toward one another in this quirky, magically-charged corner of the world, they are forced to confront the barriers they’ve erected. Can a man learning to be a father and a man learning to leave his house find a future together, or is their connection nothing more than a fleeting summer dream?

Myles and Steven

Summer Holiday Lifeline by Jaime Samms is a wonderful ending to the Bed, Breakfast, and Beyond series. Myles is distraught over the death of his sister and overwhelmed the subsequent responsibility of raising her 16 year old son and 6 year old daughter. In a last ditch effort to get through it with all 3 of them intact and healthy, he drives cross country to stay with his best friend Lucky and the found family he'd built on the streets. The Oaks family does what they do and gives Myles the support he needs to sort things out. When the house across the street goes berserk, Myles runs across the street and finds Steven passed out from a reaction to seeing his own blood from cuts across his fingers. Myles patches him up and a connection is formed. They become really good for each other navigating Myles grief and Steven's near-agoraphobia. They prove to be a nearly perfect match to the couples of Griffin's Elbow! They find their home a lovely HEA for all involved! Romance - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Steam - 🔥🔥🔥 Humor - 🤣🤣🤣 Angst - 😭😭😭 Writing - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
