Clear your calendar--you won't be able to put this book down.
I may never recover from this book.
I just finished Stormy by Wren Wilds, and it didn’t just hit—it leveled me. I went in expecting a good read. I did not expect to be completely undone by the depth of emotion, the sense of place, and the raw, honest character work.
This is hurt/comfort at its absolute finest.
What makes this story stand out is the restraint. The writing never rushes. It holds back just enough to keep you leaning forward, aching, needing to know what happens next. Every moment feels intentional, every emotional beat earned.
And the relationship? Tex and Stormy are… extraordinary.
Tex is the kind of character that sneaks up on you—a true cinnamon roll, steady and unwavering, offering something Stormy has never really had: safe, unconditional love. But what makes him unforgettable is that he doesn’t push. He waits. He respects boundaries. He protects without smothering. He loves without demanding. And that quiet, patient devotion? It wrecked me in the best way.
Stormy’s journey, set against the chaos of the hurricane, feels visceral and real. The setting isn’t just background—it’s alive. You can feel the storm, the heat, the exhaustion, the strange moments of connection in the aftermath—grilling food in parking lots, holding onto normalcy in the middle of disaster. At some point, I forgot I was reading. I was just… there.
This book doesn’t just tell a story—it pulls you into it and doesn’t let go.
If you love deeply emotional romance, beautifully…
Difficult to read, but worthy
When I say difficult is not about the writing, it’s about the subject, what is on paper and what your mind and hearth is adding to it. It is a heavy subject book because it may be author imagination, but you know unfortunately is a reality for so many people and in that reality there is no punishment for the crimes. I loved Tex for the way he speaks, his generosity and his ability to make a desperate runaway rebuild himself. The hurricane description was amazing, I am from a part of the world that never saw anything similar and it was written so well I almost felt in the middle of a real one! Overall highly recommended, but please be advised is an abuse subject that is really difficult to forget. I will be looking for the second book for sure.

I loved this book.
Tex is an amazing character. Nothing sexier than a man who communicates and is funny! His dialogue was my favorite.
Stormy, well, there is nothing else I love more than a broken character who rises from the ashes. Love me some traumatized characters who figure out how to work through it. (That sounds unhinged but I am going with it.)
The story was nice with good pacing. The writing was well done, my only complaint is there is some repetiveness, especially from switching point of view and some sayings but it wasn't enough to take away a star.
Another praise of mine is that there is spice, but the spice doesn't take over the book like most books I have read. I'm here for a story with a bit of spice on the side, not the other way around!
I recommend it for a read if you want amazing characters, cuteness, and a little more than a dash of spice, but the whole cover didnt come off kinda spice. I can't wait to read more of the author's stuff.

Please, please read this book.
I love this book. If you only by one book all year, let it be this book. I laughed, i cried, then laughed again. Mentally and sexual abuse that is done before the book starts and is not overly specific is resolved in a VERY VERY good way. But the subject is not treated in a fluffy, not important way.
I cant wait for the next book. Tex is a riot and Stormy is someone you want to hug and and keep safe, but maybe the strongest person in the book, because he survives very bad things and learns to love and trust again.
Best book I’ve ever read!!!!
I don’t say best book ever lightly because I’ve read a lot. I really do not know where to start to tell you how good this book is. I guess I’ll start by saying check your trigger warnings because this book is very emotional but very healing at the same time ! If you ever had a parent that was an alcoholic and failed you horribly , this book might heal you in ways you didn’t know you needed. The love story is so beautifully written that you just don’t want the book to end! I’ll miss these guy’s! I wish every Stormy finds their Tex!
