Description

Astoria Shepry is the billionaire Ice Queen of Phoenix Ridge, a woman whose reputation is as cold and impenetrable as her boardroom demeanor. To the public, she is the ultimate villain, and to Miller Scott, a fierce, up-and-coming divorce attorney, she is the mission. Hired to represent Astoria’s ex-wife, Miller enters the legal battle with one single-minded goal: to dismantle Astoria’s empire and secure justice for her client. But when Miller finally sits across the table from her adversary, the narrative she scripted begins to unravel. Beneath the billionaire's glacial exterior lies an enigma that doesn't fit the villainous mold Miller was prepared to destroy. As the lines of the legal case blur, a different kind of intensity takes root. Hostility transforms into a magnetic, high-stakes curiosity that neither woman can afford, yet neither can resist. Trapped between ethical duty and an undeniable, forbidden attraction, Miller finds herself fighting the very person she was meant to ruin. As secrets emerge and the truth of their connection deepens, the professional war becomes a perilous game of desire. In this blistering enemies-to-lovers romance, Miller and Astoria will discover that the highest price of victory might just be their own hearts.

Ice Queen Melts

Emily Hayes writes very good Ice Queens. It’s always enjoyable watching the hard-hearted women melt as she falls in love.

A Great Read

I really enjoyed the development of these characters. The story was different from other books. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen. On to the next one in the series.

Good Story - needs editing

Good story, perfect length. Lots of typos and grammatical errors throughout that make bits of the story difficult to read or understand.

Wow, this is powerful and full of angst!

Ms Hayes is certainly a masterful writer. This story held my interest with the tension she built, the character development and the very intense relationships, work and personal that resulted. The court room scenes could have been boring but her skills with writing kept the tension high. Then there were the erotic scenes that also kept the interest on point. All in all a very enjoyable read.
