🙏☠️If I don't make it to Heaven, I'm going to enjoy the heaven I have on earth here with him✝️🩸
"If I tell you everything right now, you'll never see me again. I won't come back."
"Will you continue to sin?"
"Yes."
"Then you'll need to come back."
"Sounds like you want me to be a sinner, Father."
"You want me. You're aware of what I've done and you still want me."
"No."
"I think I found something we have in common. We're both liars."
"We're opposites. Good and evil. Light and dark. Order and chaos."
"You got me on my knees, Father. Should I make a confession? I'm about to ruin your life."
"There's no heaven waiting for you."
"As long as you're waiting for me, there is."
"Here's my confession. I might be obsessed with you. And if what we do is sin, I never want to stop sinning. I don't want to be saved. I don't want to seek forgiveness for what I feel when I'm inside you."
"Is there anything else you'd like to confess?"
"I've never felt closer to Heaven than when I'm with you."
"He's looking at me like I'm a challenge that he's already accepted. Dear God, give me the strength."
Isabel hit it out of the park with this story. Wow! I know I say that about all her stories, but this one is a close favorite. This had some amazing troupes like priest/mafia hitman, forced proximity, forbidden romance, opposites attract, and secret identity. I love me a good mafia story arc and this author did this one justice. The plot kept me engaged through the entire book. Add in a priest, kinky spice, and a mafia hitman obsessed with said priest 🥵🥵.
This story follows…
It was good. Not the best priest book I've read, but not the worst at all. I could have used a little more catholic guilt and pining, and the transition from one form of the priest to the next was a little stark. Confliction is half the fun with these stories and I felt this could use more. But overall it was good.

I love a good priest trope - is there anything that is more forbidden? And add in the mafia connection - wow! This book had me hooked from the very beginning. The story itself is so good and the characters were fabulous. Carlo is a priest and as the story unfolds, we find that he is hiding something big. A chance encounter with Javier becomes so much more. The two are drawn to each other from the beginning and the chemistry is off the charts.

I was really looking forward to this book. Was it bad? No. Was it phenomenal? Also no. It was good. It was worth reading but probably won’t read again. I loved the idea of a priest and someone in the mafia. However Carlo’s priesthood felt like was tossed in just to say he’s a priest. I didn’t feel like he had any real struggles with faith or sexuality like I thought there would be but at the same time the circumstances surrounding his priesthood I’m sure had a lot to do with.
Javier was a likable character although I did sort of find his relationship with Cortez… strange? It’s definitely an interesting story with twists, it’s not very dark but I believe that’s stated in the beginning of the book.

Oh man… Isabel did NOT disappoint here 😮💨. Hitman x priest? A trope I never knew I needed until I read this lol.
Carlo G… (I won’t spoil his real name bc that’s a plot in the book lol). This poor man and the internal conflict he’s had in his life. He’s the definition of “he never had a chance with the cards that life dealt him.” It seems like he had one obstacle after another and then to be thrown into priesthood? 😮💨 his story had so many layers to it and I think Isabel did a great job at peeling back each layer, showing us more and more of who Carlo truly was at his core.
The plot twist with his dad? AMAZING! I’m not going to lie, Isabel had me ready to rage and fight Daddy Cortez but then I trusted the process and I have to say, she converted me (no pun intended 😂). Once I got the full picture, my heart hurt so bad for both men 😭.
Javier (Javi) 🥵. Ufffff. Isabel can write a damn bad boy!!!! Listen, that man had me in a chokehold since he stepped into the confessional booth lmao. There was something about him that captivated from the beginning and he never let me go. His no BS, it is what it is attitude, was the perfect combination for Carlo. He needed someone like that; someone to make him challenge his beliefs, his past, and make him think about a future. He owned his bisexuality and I’m here for it (Bi-erasure will not be tolerated here). I thoroughly enjoyed these men’s dynamic both in and OUT of the bedroom.
Now the bedroom scenes? 👀 the smut? 🥵…
