Description

In high school, Kieran was Avra’s tormentor—a cruel, looming presence whose hostility felt unsettlingly personal. Years later, that jagged history pivots into a dangerous, magnetic obsession. As their lives continue to collide in early adulthood, Avra begins to suspect that Kieran’s past cruelty wasn’t just a symptom of bigotry, but a projection of a hunger he couldn’t name: a desperate, buried desire for the queer identity he once sought to destroy. What follows is an electric, volatile courtship that blurs the lines between enmity and intimacy. As they descend into a relationship defined by erotic yearning and psychological brinkmanship, Avra and Kieran force each other to confront the agonizing intersections of shame, power, and identity. Bogen’s debut is a scalding examination of the fluidity of desire and the scars left by suppressed truths. It is a raw, unapologetic look at how we project our own internal conflicts onto others and the harrowing work required to untangle those complicated impulses. Propulsive and unflinchingly bold, Queering Him marks the start of a searing trilogy that challenges the boundaries of queer experience, kink, and the transformative potential of our darkest attractions.

Hot, Fluffy, and Steamy!!!!

I’ve followed Katherine Bogen on social media for a long time, so of course I had to get the novel. I just finished reading this and OMG I LOVE IT!!!! I just love the name “Avra”, the whole enemies-to-lovers genre is one of my many guilty pleasures, I love how the supporting characters actually have a role to play than just being there (and I love how so many of them are either closeted or openly queer), I loved the sexy scenes, and I loved that twist of an ending! It was open-ended and brutal and left me eager for more!!!!! This novel really speaks to me as a late-blooming queer with little experience with women and the fear of being judge for not being gay enough. Seeing all those words written out on paper, that internal conflict of being bi enough and having to prove your queerness to others, regardless of of whether they’re straight or gay, made me feel relieved and seen, and lifted some of that shame and guilt. Thank you for all you do and can’t wait to see what happens next!

A great, steamy, queer book with excellent bi and queer representation

There’s so many things I love about it. I’ve not read a spicy book before and I really enjoyed all of the writing you did with each of these parts and really drawing me in like every single chapter. It was like a mini cliffhanger each time that made me want more. I found the queer representation really relatable and also the personal difficulties Avra and Kieran both experienced felt so real. Toward of the end of the book though I felt like so many different emotions. I was like crying from all of the bisexual representation and I was aroused, and then I was like angry for Kieran at the every end. There were many parts that aligned with my experience as a bisexual and queer person and I just felt really seen. I cannot wait for the next set of books, it's a wonderful and delightful first book of more to come.

Cerebral, but also emotional.

Sometimes I found myself feeling the language was far more complex than it needed to be, but that vocabulary also lends itself to the idea that Avra is the one telling the story. The spice was spicy, and a little uncomfortable at the points it was paired with raw emotion (not just angst) that I am not used to reading alongside it. The struggles were elaborated in a way that only comes from an author truly understanding them themself, so I applaud K.W. For being so open with us in her debut. I am excited to read the next installment.

Messy and I liked it

I loved this book! Been a big fan of Katherine Bogen for years, and was super excited to support and get a copy! I really love her descriptive writing style, feeling just very natural and visceral in the way things resonate with you. Honestly, I really enjoy the mess of this relationship- no spoilers! But yes, relationships can be very messy and I love that this doesn't shy away from that. I think it captures a lot of the queer experience, especially bi/pan experience really well. The imposter syndrome, the feminine rage over patriarchy, it was a delight to read. And in case the title didn't make it exceedingly obvious, content warning: Gay as hell

Good Spicey Romance

Excellent new romance. Fans of spice and books like Heated Rivalry will love it. Bogen is a new writer worth following.
