Description

Casey Carter has a roadmap for his life: dominate on the field, get drafted, and leave his past behind. His meticulously planned future hits a literal dead end when his luxury car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, introducing him to the last person he expects—or needs—in his orbit. Ryker Hart is everything Casey isn’t: rough-hewn, cynical, and buried under the responsibility of raising his younger brother after his family was torn apart. Ryker has no room in his life for a golden-boy quarterback with a blinding smile, especially when he’s fighting to keep his mechanic shop afloat. But Casey refuses to stay in his lane. Between coaching Ryker’s brother and crashing their chaotic family dinners, Casey chip away at the mechanic’s defenses, revealing the man beneath the grumpiness. As their worlds collide, the stakes skyrocket. For Casey, a high-profile relationship could jeopardize his shot at a professional career; for Ryker, opening his heart feels like the biggest risk of all. In this story of emotional healing and combustible attraction, Casey and Ryker must decide if they’re brave enough to repair the damage of their pasts to build a future together—one where they finally stop running.

Goldenboy football star & the hot mechanic

If your into MM romance novel's this is a must read. It has everything, from the struggles of two guys from different social classes finding love and common ground building a relationship. There's laughter, the love of a family bond and drama & intimacy. My favorite character has to be 15 year old Wes, his smart wit had me laughing though out the story.

Casey and Ryker

QUARTERBACK DRILL – CHRISTIE GORDON This is the second book in the Desert Football series and this time we follow the romance of Casey and Ryker. Casey is the quarterback for the ASU football team and ends up having car trouble the morning after a hookup, on what he considers the not good side of Mesa. While trying to decide if he should get a tow to the BMW dealer, he notices an auto shop across the street. The owner of the auto shop comes out to see if he can assist the driver of the car and recognizes him. Ryker cannot believe Casey is broken down right outside his shop but stays professional and offers the fact he is BMW certified and worked at BMW for two years. Casey feels better hearing about the certification, and because he wants to spend more time around Ryker, agrees to let him look at his car. When he enters the garage, Ryker’s brother Wes is doing his homework in the office, and he recognizes Casey right away and gets excited to have one of his local heroes right in front of him. When Casey hears Wes is also a quarterback for his high school football team, he offers to spend some time helping to coach him over the summer so he can improve his game enough to make the varsity team in the fall. Casey convinces Ryker to spend some time with him helping Wes and then asks him to go out with him on a date. Ryker decides to take a chance and get to know Casey, and they end up falling in love. Ryker tells Casey about how his mom ended up in prison, and Casey offers…

Ryker ❤️Casey

Thank you for the book, here is my honest opinion: 3.5⭐️This was a pretty sweet, I especially appreciated the minimal needless drama. It did take me a minute to warm up to Casey as his pursuit of Ryker is kind of aggressive and seemed to be primarily due to his ego. I did come around though and definitely loved how invested and protective of Ryker and his family once they started getting to know each other. These two are good together and I was definitely rooting for Ryker to have some good things in his life.

3.5 stars for this one

I love Christie’s books, but this one didn’t hold up to the others. There didn’t seem so be as much character development or story as in the others. Still good but it just not as good as some of her others. Will still be reading the series cause have to know what goes on with the other Desert Dogs!
