Description

Kellan O’Reilly is skating on thin ice. As a star player for Radford U, he needs to secure a professional contract to save his family’s finances, all while pulling double shifts to pay the bills and keep his grueling schedule a secret from his coach. His already fragile world tilts sideways when he is assigned a tutor: the sharp-tongued and icy Bennett "Wells" Wellington III. Wells has built an impenetrable exterior, and he isn't interested in babysitting a hockey jock. More importantly, he knows exactly who Kellan is—and he bears the scars of a past encounter the star player has long since forgotten. Determined to make Kellan pay for old wounds, Wells sets out to sabotage their sessions, weaponizing his own newfound power to keep the athlete on edge. But as the lines between vendetta and desire blur, the power dynamic shifts. Wells finds himself addicted to the man Kellan has become, and Kellan discovers a magnetic, commanding intensity in Wells that he cannot resist. Amidst the pressure of the rink and the secrets of their pasts, they must decide if they are playing for keeps or just settling a score, in this high-stakes dance of attraction and vulnerability.

great characters and great story development- you can't put it down

This was an amazing read! There is nothing like a good book that keeps you locked in, page after page waiting for what's happening next because it is such a well written story. The character development is amazing, and the side characters add to the complexity of the story. Everything flows so well, it's like a well oiled machine. When I was just a third of the way through all I could say is this book is freaking good! We don’t have to wait to see their chemistry, but it still feels like a slow burn because it’s 1 step forward two steps back, but everything feels like you are just waiting for either things to take off or the shoe to drop, which makes for a great read. The one thing I love is the genuineness of how Wells is so confident, but it’s also like a mask and he spends a lot of time getting in his own way. I love how Kellan pulls a lot of that emotion out of him and it’s like Wells is forces to face his drama, but he is really working hard to be be difficult at times, knowing he is doing it. The ending was definitely worth it, and though it leaves a lot to be worked out, I am hoping to get more books from Mel McCabe because I have a lot of other characters I need to know all about - I’m looking at you Reed, Coop, Dutch, and Carter. - and I secretly would love to know more of Wells and Kellan’s story (though another book on them wouldn’t make sense, I got the closure I needed).

Kellan and Wells

Kellan is a hockey player that needs some tutoring. Wells is his new tutor. They have a past, but one if them doesn't remember it. As they work together, they found out more about each other and learn everything they need to know about the other. This is a good book with spice, drama, and a good story. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to others.

⭐⭐⭐ 3/5.

Kellan and Wells

This was a great MM romance with the perfect amount of heat and angst. The author doesn’t draw out things and gets to the point. Every loose end was resolved by the ending which we know can be hard to do in some books.

MM Hockey X Tutor

What a great MM hockey vs grumpy tutor. Kellen is in his senior year and has what it takes to make it in the big leagues but he’s struggling on and off the ice. Paired with Wells, who can’t stand Kellen. Sparks fly!! There were a few scenes that had me blushing while fanning myself! This was a fast paced book with lots of angst, redemption and yes happy endings.
