Description

The Chicago Thunder are back, and the stakes have never felt more personal. In this emotional centerpiece of the series, Power Forward explores the complex, lingering embers of a shared past that refuses to be extinguished. When two estranged hearts are forced to share the same space once again, the distance between who they were and who they have become proves both maddening and magnetic. This is a story of second chances carved out of historical tension and personal transformation. As the protagonists navigate the delicate dance of rekindling a lost connection, they must confront the vulnerabilities they once tried to bury. Bisexuality is woven deeply into the narrative, grounding the characters in a nuanced exploration of identity, desire, and the courage it takes to love without reservations. Readers who have followed the Chicago Thunder saga will find this installment both devastating and deeply restorative. It balances the high-pressure atmosphere of the team’s world with intimate, soul-baring moments that define the human condition. Heartbreaking in its honesty yet profoundly healing in its resolution, Power Forward reminds us that while the past is unchangeable, the future remains a wide-open court for those brave enough to take the next shot.

A Perfect Second Chance MM Romance

This is everything I want in a romance. Oliver delivers all my favorite tropes in one emotional, swoon-worthy story that just works. Out of the entire series, this one feels the most grounded and handled with the most care. The mental health rep is honest and thoughtful, and I saw a lot of my own journey reflected in Hayden’s story. It never feels overdone or performative, just real in a way that hits a little deeper than expected. The fight for these two men to be together is one I’d choose again and again. Their connection feels earned, and the payoff is incredibly satisfying. Truly such a great read and easily the best of the series.

Hockey, Second Chance, & Found Family Romance!!

This is my ARC review of Power Forward by Jodi Oliver. I adored this book. I loved the tropes in this hockey, second chance, and found family romance. Hayden and Jackson have such good chemistry. I'm so happy that after 14 years apart, they finally get back after they become friends again first. The progression of which it happens it well paced. Hayden and Jackson were so cute together. I loved how they flirted via text. The matching costumes of Bandit and Chilli, from the show Bluey. I love the mental health representation in this book. I'm glad Hayden has a great support system with his therapist Roberta and ex-wife Zara. I love that Hayden loves jellyfish so much. 🪼 I love how Jackson parents and teammates were supportive of Hayden and Jackson getting back together. I love how they both made time for each other and flew across the country for each other. 💜 I enjoyed the family scenes with Jackson's kids, Ryan and Isbela, bonding with Hayden. I loved those scenes so much, Hayden, caring for the kids when they were sick & watching Bluey and the hockey game. I loved when Jackson, Hayden, Ryan, and Isabela were all the winter market and had pancakes. I loved the spicy & and romantic scenes between them was good too. The strawberries and chocolates spicy scene was hot! 🔥 🥵 Yay, for seeing more of the guys on the team, too, like my fav Ethan and his love Jacob from book #2 Off Season for the series. I'm glad Jackson and Hayden got their second chance and a HEA. The…
