Inner Strength, Support, & Healing!
Y.V. Larson’s characters are often so relatable and she shows us that we all have our own journeys we go through where we need to find our inner strength and these characters show us that, yes times may be tough but you can look for help in those you love when you need that extra help. One of the amazing things that is highlighted in this book is that support can come from many different places, it can also come in different forms.. even in those you might not always look towards for it, but if you open yourself up to it and you might find what you need. Whether it's in your family.. or sometimes it can come from a partner, maybe even your close friends. Don’t let those intrusive inner thoughts win. They don’t control you and you can find the strength to get past them inside yourself.
Violet's been through so much already & it seems like things get worse before they get better. She’s been fighting the battle inside her head and her heart and it seems like she might just have more mountains to climb after that cliffhanger in part 1.
Jamie… ugh seriously, I love this man. There's so much that you could tell Jamie feels and he still puts his love for Violet first and foremost. He knows their relationship isn’t perfect but you can tell he’s more than happy to take the time and put in the work for her.
I feel so bad for Nate honestly. He’s been torn for so long that you could just tell that he needs the other to help him as much as they all need him.
I don't know about…
They really took revenge on her because she had to face the pain of her mother being harmed and didn't know how to cope. Even years later, they decided to hurt her again and unfairly blamed her for everything. I really don’t like that. Sure, she ghosted them, but clearly their relationship wasn’t long—just a brief online connection that was about to turn into a face-to-face meeting. It was an entirely online relationship, making their persistent hostility even more unreasonable. It’s ridiculous.

The trials and struggles of all the main characters in this duet were so incredibly relatable . Each character’s emotional growth hurt to witness with how close it hit to home.
Unlike a lot of romances with polyamory, the representation of insecurities and jealousy felt like I could be right in the book with the main characters. If I was in this relationship there is no way I wouldn’t have insecurities. It’s just not who I am.
Just like Petals of Blue, this duet hurt me in the best ways. The writing was so well done and I felt so much while simultaneously not being able to put it down. YV Larson just became an if they write it I will read it author.

The healing salve to part one's emotional trauma <3
♥ “Your happiness should never be the cost for someone else’s oh s*** moment.” 🫧
If book one was a full-force throat punch to the feelings, then this book felt like the soothing balm you’re handed afterward…still tender, still emotional, but focused on putting the pieces back together. Where the first installment leaned heavily into betrayal, heartbreak, and raw emotional devastation, this one shifts its focus toward the aftermath and the long, complicated process of healing.
♥ “So yes, Bubbles, I got a tattoo for you. But not to woo myself back into your good grace, but because I needed it. To be marked by you, by my failures, and to be constantly encouraged to grow and learn.” 🫧
The pacing is noticeably slower, but in this case it felt intentional rather than frustrating. Healing rarely happens as quickly as the trauma that causes it, and the story reflects that reality. Each character has to confront what happened, unpack their emotions, and figure out how to move forward. That slower rhythm gave the story space to explore those struggles in a way that felt authentic.
🫧 “Ready?” ♥
♥ “With you? I’m ready for anything.” 🫧
A large portion of the book focuses on the characters’ individual healing journeys, which was both something I appreciated and something I occasionally wished had been balanced differently. On one hand, the individual growth felt necessary. Each character needed time to process their own guilt, grief, and regrets before they could realistically…

Fighting for the future they deserve
This story is growth and real human emotions. Y.V. is very good at bringing out real emotions in her characters. You feel their struggles as much as your own. This book has Violet figuring out what she truly wants and taking the steps to find her peace.
This book has a much slower feel but it is intentional because healing doesn't happen overnight and trust takes time. All of the character have a lot of growth in this story both as individuals and as a polycule.
Jamie is the rock here and he will do anything for Violet even if it means protecting her from the other two men he wants as well. I live that he never allows the other guys to get away with anything. He gives them the time to grovel without being in the way but isn't pushing them on Violet either. The world needs more men like Jamie in it.
Nate and Ellis have a lot they needed to address for themselves as well. Nate discovers that when he gets overwhelmed he ignores himself and enables Ellis. For Ellis he realized he lashes out when he can't control his own emotions.
Ultimately they all have toxic ways they handle overwhelming feelings and learning that helps to discover better ways of dealing. By dealing with that they can learn to ask for or accept help when needed.
The end of this book was absolutely beautiful for Violet and all of her family.
