Dex and Rome.. a sweet match!
I was so happy to see Rome get his redemption arc! This was the perfect way to end the series - even though I am sad to see it end!
In the first two books Rome has a big problem with deaf people dating hearing people and it wasn’t til this book that we really learned why he held such strong beliefs. Rome was holding onto grief and heartbreak from a hearing ex-boyfriend who treated him awfully in college. My heart broke for him the more I got to know him and I could really understand why he didn’t trust hearing people. He is forced to look at his misconceptions though because he hugely attracted to Dex, who is hearing and Thom’s brother (from book 1).
After a few hate hookups, because Rome hadn’t confronted his feelings yet, Rome ghosts Dex and moves to Paris. Three years later, Rome is back home - and he still isn’t over his feelings for Dex; and Dex isn’t over his feelings for Rome. After some miscommunication between the two of them - they finally go on a date and then another date and another.. and Rome realizes his preconceived notions of hearing people might not be completely accurate.
I loved loved loved these two! Dex is a total sweetheart who desperately wants Rome to reciprocate feelings but he made Rome work for what he wanted and I really respected that! Dex wanted something real and he made sure Rome was ready for that before giving his heart over.
Rome was a sappy sappy man when it came to Dex once he got over his hang ups and I loved seeing it. He was so…

Happy ending for Dex and Rome
This was a sweet wrap up to the tension that started in the last book. If you've enjoyed the series thus far, then you'll totally enjoy this book too.
My only gripe was that there was the introduction of characters and story arcs queuing up a new series, and it was frustrating to have the carrot dangled with no resolution. If it had only been minor mentions it wouldn't be a big deal, but it was sprinkled throughout at least a quarter of the book, plus the entire epilog.
Dex & Rome were so good together!! Loved all the cameos and seeing the past couples again!! This has been a great series and I’m so glad there is going to be another series set in this world!!!

E. M. and Cora deliver again. The third in the Deaf Hearts series is delightful. I am sure Roman wouldn't think so but I do.
This time it's Roman and Sex-er- Dex taking center stage. Dex is Thom's brother, they co-own the gym with Dex doing all the paperwork because of Thom's dyslexia. Dex sees Leaf/Thorne and Robbie/Thom's loving pairings and does want that for himself. Oh, and he does notice Roman's watching him but the guy is always angry plus Dex knows Roman would NEVER date a hearing person.
Once again in a book where E. M. is involved I learn something totally new. This time about relays, how a Deaf person goes about getting an interpreter for business calls, fascinating. And this one leads to a great miscommunication.
Well, after Roman is back from 3 years in Europe Dex puts a plan in motion. It makes reading this book so much fun, then the names of the shelter cats and the Pina Colada song and this book rocks!
Roman gets a redemption arc, everyone from the other books makes an appearance and the sex, this series has not disappointed me, not one little iota. Long may these authors write together, because they have me who will always read their books.
This was an ARC for me and these are my own words, gratefully expressed.

I love me a good redemption arc because I feel like they are the way to really suck you into a series when you least expect it. I really loved the concept of this story because it was really beautifully written. I was wondering how and who would be Rome’s love interest because that man showed some of his colors in the last book but I love how we got to know who he is.
I love me a good second chance because these two were steamy in the beginning. I was wondering how they were going to connect when Rome moved away and man, he was gone for some time. When he comes back, man, is it interesting.
I love the dates and how Dex was determined to try harder on these dates. I laughed how he adopted a cat that was forced upon him. Best moment. I just know Milo is gonna be interesting when he started talking about bodies. I wanted to snap at the vendor that was just ridiculous.
I just love how cute Dex was when he was internally battling his feelings for Rome because it was everything he wanted. When we learn about Rome’s past and why he is the way he is, I just wanted to hug him and wrap him in bubble wrap because it was no wonder.
When they started using the word boyfriend and the I love you, I was grinning like a fool. I really loved how things were not rushed and it was absolutely perfect for them. I wanted more and needed more.
I love that we got the other side characters or even how funny these characters were,…
