Description

For the players of SCU Hockey, the ice is a place of absolute focus, but for two teammates, the most challenging plays are the ones happening off the rink. As they navigate the high-stakes pressure of collegiate sports and the weight of their own expectations, a deep, undeniable connection begins to form, blurring the lines between close friendship and something much more profound. This third installment of the SCU Hockey series dives into the complexities of identity and the vulnerable process of opening your heart when you least expect it. It is a story not just about the game, but about the courage it takes to pursue happiness in a world that often demands you stay inside the lines. Through authentic banter, tender breakthroughs, and the electric tension of a relationship testing its boundaries, the narrative captures the essence of a modern romance as it unfolds in real time. Fans of slow-burn chemistry and character-driven journeys will find themselves rooting for these two as they learn that the biggest victories are often the ones we share with someone else. It is an emotional, relatable, and heartfelt exploration of what it means to be truly seen by someone who understands exactly who you are.

Black Cat x Golden Retriever somehow without the cliche

Yet another homerun for J.J. Mulder. I think this is the first book I've read with accurate ACE rep. The Black Cat x Golden Retriever vibes are so perfect in this book without being cheesy, its just baked into the characters perfectly. I have no clue how Mulder is able to make you root for these characters and want them to find their way to each other without employing high levels of angst (because that's what so many authors especially in the MM space do), but I am so here for it.

Loved this book!

I identified with the characters in this story. Many sweet memories. I will not repeat the story summary, but I think the setting is realistic and a perfect one for these guys to learn about love and commitment. The story telling drew me in such that it was hard to put the book down. I only wish the author could swear without using a person's name. Most people are probably ok with this, but it really bothers me. I recommend this sweet romance.

love was lost

The story line took to long for both to find love. The only thing thy brought back was the summer finding each other other. I think the story could have been better written showing a romantic hockey play with Atlas.

Beautiful grumpy/sunshine, hockey romance with Ace rep!

“Perhaps it is your turn to be happy, after so many years of sad.” On the Edge by JJ Milder is one of my favorite books with Ace rep! Once in a while, you read a book with a character that's so precious you just want to wrap them up in bubble wrap so nothing can hurt them. Henri is one of those characters. I was low-key mad at Atlas in the beginning because of his attitude towards Henri, but I'm glad Henri didn't hold that against him and gave him a chance. Both of them deserve the best kind of love and found it with each other! "He’s easier to convince when I can smile at him and ply him with my accent. He pretends not to like it, but I know that he does." There were so many things that I loved about these two. The apples as a love language, the way their personalities contrasted but also worked together, Atlas's begrudging attraction when Henri started to get under his walls, his obsession with Henri's accent and his hair and just everything about him. They're just so endearing and you can't help but care about them and want the best for them. "I like his cute, floppy hair, and his adorable accent. I like the way he talks like an actor in a period drama, and how selfless he is. Most of all, I like the way he likes me back: genuine and unconditionally." Henri's ability to always see the best in people is one of my favorite things about him. He's selfless to the point that it could hurt him but luckily he's surrounded by people who will stand by his side through the…

I enjoyed this so much

I thought I read MM romance for the spicy, sexy stuff. I was wrong. I read it for this. This sweet romance. It's an exploration of asexual love, connecting and bonding in all the other ways besides sex. With lots of kissing. I was just delighted with the entire book. It's thoughtful and well written. I've read the other two in the series, too, and they're quite good as well. Tackling the subject of asexual romance isn't easy or common, but this novel does a great job. I loved both main characters, and was anxious to see them get their HEA. I can hardly wait for the next book in this series, or from J. J. Mulder, so please get to writing!
