Description

Audrina and Gayane have mastered the art of digital intimacy, keeping their spark alive through breathless voice memos and late-night texts. After months of yearning from afar, they are ready to bridge the distance with a luxury Colorado getaway. The plan is simple: decadence, hot cocoa, and uninterrupted time in a high-end cabin. They’ve traded the rugged outdoors for refined comfort, expecting a perfect weekend of reconnection. Nature, however, has other plans. A vicious, unexpected blizzard slams into the mountains, trapping the pair inside a drafty, isolated cabin miles from civilization. With the power out, the cell service dead, and a stockpile consisting of little more than canned beans and vintage magazines, the dream vacation shifts into a fight against the cold. For someone like Audrina, who has explicitly avoided the wilderness at all costs, the sudden shift from luxury to survival is a daunting test. But as the temperature drops, the friction between her and Gayane begins to produce a heat of its own. Without the digital screen separating them, they discover that sometimes being trapped by a storm is the perfect way to find exactly what you were looking for.

Journey of self discovery and healing

Northern Lights is written by Artemis Glass, and a first for me by this author. It is book five in the Audrina Diaries novella series. This book can be read as a standalone, but each book follows Audrina as she navigates her midlife sapphic awakening. In this book, we get to follow Audrina and Gayane. Through months of flirting via texts, video chats, and voice memos that built tension, they finally get their first getaway together in a cabin in the Colorado mountains. When a blizzard traps them in the cabin, they have nothing but each other. I think the primary focus of these books is the sexual joy journey, which is very much sensory-based, but can also be silly and playful. Having this sexual freedom allows you to open yourself up to healing other aspects of your life. There is also a nice meditation at the end of the book that was relaxing.

Finding Joy

Happy Valentine’s to those who celebrate! Although this isn’t a Valentine’s story, it is released today and it was a perfect short of love, patience, communication and beauty. This is book 5 in Audrina’s journey, can be read as a standalone and if you have less than an hour then I recommend taking this one for a read!
