Description

High school life is complicated enough without adding a supernatural twist, but for teenage protagonist Jules, the status quo is shattered when their new boyfriend, Silas, reveals a secret that defies all logic. Silas isn’t just your average heartthrob; he’s a centuries-old vampire trapped in the form of a golden retriever. As Jules navigates the chaotic dualities of high school drama and ancient, blood-thirsty instincts, they find themselves caught in a tug-of-war between their human relationships and a deepening attraction to a boyfriend who literally chases squirrels. The narrative explores identity, the absurdity of young love, and the way we project our desires onto the people—or creatures—we choose to trust. By blending the unsettling tropes of paranormal romance with a sharp, queer lens, the story questions what it truly means to be a partner, especially when your significant other has a tendency to howl at the full moon. Filled with humor, heartfelt self-discovery, and a touch of the bizarre, this tale is a refreshing subversion of the monster-romance genre. It is an adventurous look at finding love in the most unconventional of places, proving that sometimes the best companions are the ones with a collar.

One bite won’t hurt…will it?

Eva Knight is Helena Hunting’s pen name for her paranormal romance. I was not a huge fan of paranormal romance books until recent, I avoided them. However lately I’ve been reading more and more of them and am loving them. I was excited to read this book, since Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors. Its about Hazel and Godric. Hazel is in her 4th year of college and Godric and his brothers had just transferred there. As soon as Hazel and Godric saw each other, they knew there was something there between them. It was hard for Godric to stay away from Hazel, but Hazel was taking any chance she could to talk to him. Every time they started a conversation he would leave mid-way, so she thought right away that her feeling were one way and he didn’t like her. But Godric knew Hazel was meant to be his mate, but he was a vampire and she was human. How could this even work, but the more he was near her and got to know her the more he needed to make Hazel his. Would Hazel accept him for who he is and would he be okay with being with her even if it was short time? This book was steamy and makes you giggle throughout. During the read I was hoping for something more to happen, which doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good read but I was left with wanting more. I hope there is a sequel, because I want to know more of what happens with Hazel and Godric, many many many years in the future. And I needed to know about her friends a one their relationships hahaha

I’m obsessed

I don’t know if all of Helena Hunting aka Eva Knight (her paranormal pen name) writing is equally addicting but boy! This was my first read of hers and it was so addicting! I absolutely loved this book. I gobbled it up in one sitting. Hazy is a college student who is a spunky and hilarious character. She’s witty, confident, and a sex positive woman on a mission. New student Godric is looking delicious. As does every other female student thinks as well but Hazy and Godric have a connection. And boy does Hazy want in his pants. 😂 This was a laugh out loud romantic comedy with the perfect proportion of spice, comic relief, mystery, and wonderful side characters. Godric is a very old vampire. He’s never dated a human before and it’s all new to him. When the secret it out to Hazy, both work on finding out how to coexist together. When one ages and the other not… these two science nerds put their skills and knowledge to the test. Godric has two other brothers, and I really hope they get their own books because I am seriously dying for their own romantic love stories! I highly recommend this book. Godric is the sweetest book boyfriend that has decades and decades of practice in the sheets… ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Top notch orgasm giver 😂 5/5⭐️ I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future !

Cute read!

3.5-3.75 stars. This was a cute read! My Boyfriend is a Vampire is a standalone book by Helena Hunting writing as Eva Knight. This is her first foray into paranormal romance. It is Godric and Hazel/Hazy's story. Hazy is pre-med in college, living a typical student's life of partying and classes. She meets Godric when he moves in nearby and is in one of her classes. There is an attraction between them and eventually they begin dating, only for Hazy to find out that Godric is keeping a big secret. He is actually a centuries old vampire. This was a fun story. I liked Godric and Hazy. I do think the character's felt a little young at times and their mindsets a little less mature than I usually read. I also think they lacked some chemistry. But I still liked them as characters and thought they were a good match. The pacing was a little meandering. But I was intrigued enough by the story to keep reading. The paranormal aspect was fun and well-written. I liked Godric's brothers, also vampires, and I would love to see this become a series where they get their own books. Overall, this was a good read. Godric and Hazy were sweet together and I was happy that they found each other. I look forward to more from this author and can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Okay read for me

So this cute read turned out to be just a cute okay read for me. In this book we meet 2 college students - one Hazy or Hazel and one Godric. Godric happens to be in a lot of classes that Hazy is in and lives across from her ex-boyfriend in a previously abandoned house with his family of brothers whom he shares the same disorder with. Hazy's ex-boyfriend is the suspicious type that also works at the college newspaper and he wants Hazy back. Now one does not have to guess how the plot of this story will play out. There is an instant attraction between Hazy and Godric. There is a lot of banter between the characters that was fun and then there was the irritating ex who will not take a hint and get lost. So where this was a fun read to get through, I have to admit that it was hard for me to get into. I thought that the plot was a little predictable and that the characters lacked growth making them hard to relate to. Overall, this was just an okay read for me.
