I absolutely LOVED this book. The characters are flawed, with the right balance of introspective and total cluelessness. The banter is witty and sharp. There are plenty of well-written, HOT steamy scenes, as well as adorable fluff. Lots of important friendship explorations, too. I thought it was sort of refreshing that Cassie's biggest problem was not the age gap, but the fact that Erin is her best friend's mom. I never wanted it to end. Every night when I'd read a few chapters, I couldn't wait to spend time in Erin and Cassie's world. There's a sort of twist at the end that made me want to go right back to the beginning and reread in a different light. It's the sort of book that seems so cinematic and would make a great movie or series, but it'd be almost impossible to live up to the book. Can't wait to keep following this author...I'm an instant fan!
The book started a little too fast. And sometimes I felt like there was a lot of unneeded filler. But besides that, the attraction between the main characters was believable, and the sex scenes were hot, especially when the younger mc tells the older mc what to do. On a different note, I appreciated that Parker matured through the end of the book.
One thing I've noticed in books lately is that the parent always has to tip toe around their child. I hate that. I would never roll my eyes or say a snotty comment to my parents because I love and respect them.
Anyway, the book held my interest, and I'll probably re-read it at some point.
A Sweet and Sentimental Love Story!
First book I read from this writer. The book blurb caught my eye and even though it was from two years ago, I had to have it. It was an exciting and poignant read. Two women meet up in a bar. Cassie and Erin. After a quick romp in the back of Erin’s car, Cassie gets Erin to drop her off at the local college where Erin realizes Cassie was a senior and Erin’s daughter was a new freshman. Erin was in for Freshman visiting weekend. What is worse when her daughter brings a friend to breakfast and that friend is her first one night stand Cassie. Written well, the storytelling takes us through the relationship as the two try to part but keep finding reasons to get together. Erin know that her renewed relationship with her daughter will be destroyed and Cassie knows that Parker has become like a best friend since she has been rooming in the dorm with Acacia her real life best friend. But they can’t seem to stay apart. Worth a read.
I loved this so much, I started writing again
How in the living heckers?? I read this book from about midnight to 11am on a day where I was supposed to start working at 9am (sorry to my coworker, though you'll never see this comment). The CHARACTERS. Some of the intentional miscommunication is annoying, but it fits the plot and the characters so well, I don't think there was any other way to write this. It just feels so real, it's so well crafted, I gave my copy to a friend and I'm placing an order for a second copy right now. Also, when I tell you that I'm picky about smexy scenes in literature, I'm like curated wine and cheese pairing picky, and Meryl has the pairings nailed down (nailed to the wall, nailed in a car, etc etc etc, and actually etc, like I think this comment would get flagged if I actually left my full feedback). So anyway, read this book, I'll send you this book, let's make a book club to discuss this book, and maybe, one day, I will have sanity again. Do not start this book after like 5pm. Just wait until tomorrow. Please, I am so tired and so jazzed up rn.

Haven’t finished the book just yet but 3 chapters in and it’s already pretty good
The book is great but the corner was bent when it arrived with a small tear on front cover
