Sous-chef Quinn Weller is just living day to day after losing her sister in a devastating car accident. Except Quinn is lost and feels empty, not knowing why. Until a lawyer finds her and delivers a bombshell: she is the heir to an inheritance in a place called Wildstone, California. Shocked and feeling like her life has been a lie, Quinn picks up and goes to Wildstone, expecting to take over a house or something. What she finds is a small town where gossip is the norm, people are friendly and the simple pleasures start to grow on her. But when she finds out the second portion of her inheritance, a sister she never knew she had. Can two wildly different people get through the loss of a life, of a person to see that they need one another? Can Quinn find it in her heart to let herself be loved by not just her new-found sister but also by the town of Wildstone?
Wow is all I can say after reading Jill Shalvis’s new book, LOST AND FOUND SISTERS. It’s a wonderful tale of a woman floundering after a major loss, just going through the motions and not moving forward. Quinn is stuck in life so to speak. I loved this book so much because it delivers wonderful characters that are quirky, intriguing and downright enjoyable. You got Quinn, who is struggling with all the…

Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis
Wildstone series #1. Contemporary romance, chick lit.
Quinn Weller’s life takes a dramatic turn when a lawyer tells her about a mysterious inheritance. She heads to the small town of Wildstone, California where she finds that her life was based on a lie. The inheritance is from her mother that just passed away from an illness and she now has a younger sister to raise.
Small town living is nothing like Los Angeles. Quinn finds herself involved in the community before she’s even sure if she wants to stay.
Family dynamics can certainly cause drama and tears. There is a romance in this story, but it really centers more around building relationships with family and community. It’s heartwarming and tender and makes me think I need to go out and make more meaningful connections.
Some laughs, some tears, new friendships and love. Contentment.
Loved every minute in this story
Lost and Found Sisters is a perfect example of why I read any book by Jill Shalvis – it feels like real life, the characters are ones that I recognize from my own life and the situations they face are realistic. Of course, I love a good romance yet this story is more than the developing love between a man and a woman, it’s the love that we also feel for friends, family, work and life… even when those things don’t always go according to our plans.
Although Lost and Found Sisters has been out for a while now, I want to be careful in this review to not reveal spoilers (or things not mentioned in the description blurb) because the readers who discover this touching, emotional story should come upon each surprise and development on their own. I don’t want to take that enjoyment away from anyone. I loved this book and the characters within, and I could talk about it for hours but I will control myself.
I think at some point in our lives we’ve all been a bit like Quinn. When her sister, Beth, was killed in a car accident Quinn shut down. There really is no other way to describe it. She went through the motions of life but was very far from actually living life. She has a good job even if it is at times annoying, her own apartment, an on and off boyfriend who is really more like a good friend at this point and loving, protective parents. Yet on the inside Quinn is numb. Right up until the moment she discovers that her life is really not what she thought it was, that information…

Like all of Jill's book this one was very well ...
I give Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shelves five stars. This is book one of Jill's new series Wildstone. Like all of Jill's book this one was very well written, it will make you laugh, it will make your heart hurt and it will make you feel love. This is a story about losing a sister and the fall out from that. Being an Identical twin reading about this lost made my heart ache. I could not imagine losing my sister I would lose a big piece of myself if that ever happened. This book is a glimpse into what would probably happen if you had to deal with such lost.
Quinn Weller lost her only sister in a tragic car accident. She feels like she is finally starting to get her life back on track after the tragedy until one day a lawyer tracked her down in her favorite coffee shop and drops a huge bombshell into her lap. When Quinn finally finds out what her inheritance is she starts questioning everything in her life and has to finally decide what she wants out of her life. Is it this new life she is creating in Wildstone or is it her old life back in L.A. You will have to read the book…
The past couple of days I have been reading Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis. I have to say that it was pretty good. Jill is known for her light fun small town romance. Now Lost and Found Sisters is a little different from her normal stuff, but still pretty good. We meet Quinn Weller who comes to find out that her life isn't what it seems. Throughout most of the story she has been living in a fog since her sister died. Now she has found out she's adopted and her birth mother left stuff behind. Now she needs to decided how to proceed. Basically she's at a crossroads, does she decided to live life in a fog or decided to take a chance a see what could happen with this new life.
The new life come with a new challenge, like baby sister. So, she needs to tread on this landmine carefully, because teenagers can be volatile and unstable at times. She also meets a new guy that kind of rev her juices. Not an easy choice.
Overall, Lost and Found Sisters is a pretty good story. The title is absolutely perfect, because Quinn does has lost a sister and she comes to find a new one. Like I said she's waking up from a fog through the story, and it isn't easy for her. Quinn struggles with deciding to stick with the status quo or stretch herself. I like that she struggles with the story, but she does have a little help who cares. Some people may think she's crazy, but hey whatever helps. Lost and Found Sisters is a pretty good read for a book club selection. You have a variety of themes…
