Broken Book Therapist Reviews
I loved watching these two driven by power have to actually work hard for this. Neither of these men knew how to make any relationship in their lives work, and being forced to do so in this was a privilege to watch. I love the redemption they both got with past parts of themselves, the way they are defining their future, and the realities that even once you are in a relationship it is still hard work was so real. So often we get a HEA that feels easy... this will never be easy, but they are it for each other.

who's going to break first?

I have always loved Amanda's books. We have sort of seen this coming, after Play with the Phantom, Asher 's story was being revealed and we all knew that something wasn't right with him, knowing that there was more than meets the eye.
When Asher finds himself alone at a couples retreat to help move forward with his career, King comes from the shadows with a plan to bring Asher to his knees in more than one capacity. Both men find themselves peeling back the layers while playing head games with each other until someone breaks. When King has Asher right where he wants him, it becomes too late for the dominos to fall. How much of this Pandora's box will Asher take before he ultimately surrenders and questions everything he has worked for in his life.
This isn't as dark as Amanda has written but the manipulation and the games they both play have you questioning, how is this not dark? King wants nothing more than to see Asher fall and under his will and get under Asher's skin, pulling every emotion and thought Asher's head and make him reveal his own demons.
What a story!!! What a wild ride!!! I also loved the little moments that Asher starts to feel human like his relationship with his brother and his ex and seeing the wheels spin of wanting more in life but doesn't know how to start. I loved the Easter eggs for the next book in the series and I can't wait.

🖤 Dom-Sub
🖤 Asher being a good boy
Will I read it again? Absolutely — over and over again.
Bi Awakening… only Amanda could pull this off with such depth and heart. I never imagined Asher would become one of my new favorites. After book two, I thought his story was finished — but no, Amanda worked her magic and made him irresistibly complex, layered, and impossible to forget. This book swept me away completely. I devoured every page, every twist, every emotion — I truly ate it up and left no crumbs.

It’s not that this book wasn’t good, or well written. It just felt very unrealistic. No one with that much hate and need for revenge just caves. No one with such a deep shame for their sexuality just “gets over it” in a week. Even the Dom/Sub part felt off, a weak boy with deep insecurities dominating and a powerful older business tycoon letting a business rival degrade him?? Did not feel realistic at all. The tension and the attraction was there, but the serious issues between their pasts was glossed over. I definitely enjoyed the other books much more.
Not my usual romance read but once I started it I couldn’t not finish it. I loved the romance behind it and the bickering made the fall so much sweeter.
