Fun best friends to lovers book. Quite a bit of angst since one is straight but I was totally here for it. Loved the book and can't wait for Holden's story.

Ames the owner of Watchfire Restaurant and a volunteer firefighter, has been in love with Robbie his best friend for sixteen years. Robbie is engaged to Lissa and soon to be married, but plans change. Robbie is the fire chief in Winsome, and feels responsible for his crew. When a major fire happens two of his crew are injured. Robbie saves Ames who ran after Greene into the burning structure. Greene was saved by Hughes. This is a sweet love story, with drama and a few twists. It is the second book in the Axford Brothers series which has been fun to read.

Absolutely loved both books. It's git a good pace, sweet, funny, and emotionally deep when it needs to be. I honestly dont know how I am going to make it waiting till next year for the 3rd book. Excited to look at the authors other books.

Ames is very gay and very much in love with his best friend and person Robbie.

Robbie is a big teddy bear of a man, who's aim in life is to care for everyone, much to his own detriment. He struggles
to keep his demanding fiancé happy and his selfish brother in line, never complaining because that's what family does. The whole time his best friend Ames and his therapist are trying to open his eyes and show him his worth.
Both Robbie and Ames are fire fighters, proud to take on any danger to protect their community and loved ones.
During a huge fire Ames gets hurt and Robbie gets shaken to his core, the fact that he couldn't protect the most important person in his life, that he nearly lost his Amesie breaks him.
Almost every minute of every day Robbie and Ames were together, they were each other's significant others without putting a name on it. Once Robbie opened his heart to the truth, that his feelings for Ames were…
