Description

Cassandra Sterling has everything money can buy, yet she is suffocating under the weight of her parents impossible expectations. When she decides to spend the holidays on her own terms, a simple getaway spirals into a high-stakes nightmare. Instead of a peaceful retreat, she finds herself caught in the middle of a dangerous confrontation, forcing her to rely on the one person she never expected to trust. Enter the woman who turns Cass’s world upside down. Tough, capable, and completely unimpressed by her status, this unexpected savior is the only thing standing between Cass and disaster. As they navigate a perilous situation, the icy distance between them begins to thaw, replaced by a sizzling chemistry neither can ignore. This is far from your typical festive tale of cocoa and carols; it is a pulse-pounding adventure where life-or-death stakes collide with a slow-burn romance. With sharp, witty dialogue and deeply layered characters, this story explores the complexities of identity and the courage it takes to claim your own life. If you are looking for a Christmas read that packs a punch with genuine emotional depth and heart-stopping action, look no further than this gripping, unforgettable journey.

John Grisham much?

This book reminded me of a John Grisham novel. The pacing and the plot were totally in his ballpark. But I enjoyed reading it although it wasn't my favorite book of the week. 3.5 stars.
