This is probably one of my favs by her, and that says a lot since I love all her books. This was a very slow burn, but boy, was it worth it in the end. I always love the flow, wording, and how fleshed out her books are. Filled with emotion, humor, spice, and a fantastic storyline. I feel like I could have quoted this whole book 😂. Why did I wait so long!? This was a slow and delicious burn!! 🔥 Teddy’s yearning for Sev practically bleeds off the page. Every interaction with Sev has Teddy barely holding his sanity together. Watching Teddy try (and fail) to contain his feelings for Sev hurts!! At first, Sev seems indifferent, brushing Teddy off like he’s an adorable 10 year old just throwing a tantrum. But it quickly becomes clear that Sev is fighting just as hard to keep his feelings for Teddy contained. The mutual pining here!? Torture. Then, Sev pushes Teddy to his breaking point and Teddy starts to actively pursue Sev. I was all kinds of excited! Finally! Go Teddy get your man!! But the restraint Sev shows while Teddy lays it all out there? Rather impressive!! Turns out, there is one thing standing in the way of Sev and Teddy being in a relationship. Teddy's brother and Sev's best friend: Nate. The anger and rage I had for Nate was unreal! Nate denied Sev his Teddy Bear and to me that was unforgivable. So much hurt that Sev and Teddy went through because of one person's opinion. Eventually though, Sev throws Nate's opinion out the window when Sev hits that "moment". And when that slow burn finally ignites, it explodes, all that restraint, all that tension, all the longing turns into pure heat. It was completely worth the wait. 🔥 Oh and the side characters? I am usually (obsessively) in love with this author’s books. Unbreak Me is easily one of the most beautiful things I will ever read. Maybe it’s because the second book was so heavy, and the first book was so funny and heartwarming- not to mention kinky in a way I never thought I’d enjoy- but this felt so flat compared to those. I was moved to tears of laughter, sadness and joy with the first two in this series, and this one barely tugged at my heartstrings until the epilogue. It wasn’t bad because Jesse is an incredible writer, but I personally struggled to connect to this story on a way that I always have with her books. The build up was so slow, the pining so heavy, the steam felt well below what I’ve come to expect, and the resolution of the barrier was wildly underwhelming.

I absolutely adore a good forbidden romance. The longing and yearning these boys had for each other was on another level, especially when they were forced to share the same living space knowing nothing can happen. Because having feelings for your brother’s best friend is forbidden. Fighting the emotions bottled up between them was hard to control, and once they cracked that seal, there was no going back. The years of silent pining made their chemistry blow everything out of the water. Making them forget why they held back in the first place. If you love brother’s best friend, longing/pining, forbidden romance and forced proximity you will love this book.
