Description

Lucas is drowning in responsibilities. Between caring for his mother and sisters and desperately scraping together funds to pay off the crushing debt from an abandoned wedding, he is barely keeping his head above water. When a career-defining real estate opportunity falls into his lap, the catch is impossible to ignore: he has to collaborate with Andrew, his professional nemesis and a man who knows exactly how to get under his skin. The tension skyrockets when, in a moment of sheer desperation and absurdity, the pair are mistaken for a couple by their high-stakes clients. Too deep in the lie to back out, Lucas finds himself trapped in an elaborate performance of domestic bliss. At first, the charade is nothing more than forced proximity and choreographed hand-holding, but the lines between business and pleasure blur with dizzying speed. As they navigate the high-pressure world of luxury real estate, Lucas discovers that the man he pegged as an antagonizing menace might be hiding a softer side. What began as a strategic fabrication to secure a commission quickly evolves into a complex emotional puzzle. Lucas is left wondering if he’s falling for the role they’re playing, or if the real Andrew was there all along.

A Rom-Com esque story with enemies to lovers and lots of spice!

Enemies to lovers •• forced proximity •• workplace romance •• Steamy first times with a man •• Fake relationship •• Andrew and Lucas's story is quite explosive, these two have been enemies practically since they met. They've never gotten along, mainly due to misunderstanding or in some cases just simply not trying to get to know one another. Once they both get assigned to show locations to their biggest clients yet, they're forced to spend time together in a forced proximity environment. And thanks to Andrew's lie they have to pretend to be boyfriends... What could go wrong? I was expecting this to be more of an angst driven plot but wow, this was so much more than what I was expecting. You could really feel how much these two men truly loathed each other in the beginning. They couldn't stand to be in the same room together let alone talk to each other and pretend to be a couple. I liked how gradually overtime they got to know one another better, even when it was through snarky remarks or pointed jabs, they each slowly revealed a new layer to each other they hadn't seen or known about prior. The banter these two have is interesting for sure, they have their own type of love language. Like how Andrew's insult towards Lucas got turned into Lucas's bizarre pet-name, it was quirky and the dialogue was funny to read. I LOVE the role Andrew's cousin and cousin in law played, that are absolutely hilarious and are really supportive side characters. I adored them! Something else…

Enemies to lovers rom-com

***This is my honest and voluntary review.*** Lucas and Andrew are island real estate agents at odds with one another, until they have to do a job together. Both men want to earn the commission and need to learn how to work together in a civil manner. One things leads to another, and the pair suddenly become fake boyfriends. These two really get under one another’s skin, so it’s absolutely thrilling watching them come to terms with their newfound attraction and admiration of one another. There’s a lot of sass and snark in this book, but there’s also a lot of heart too. I laughed out loud a few times and definitely felt the swoon as Lucas and Andrew opened up to one another. Their vulnerability is just as appealing as their chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the enemies-to-lovers aspect is *chef’s kiss.* Lucas is an absolute doll and Andrew is an acquired taste, but I really enjoy the bond they form once Andrew lets his realness show. It’s really heartwarming how Lucas sees his layers. Terry and Shaw are great side characters. There are some revelations about other characters that are jaw dropping in this story. This book is a fun read that will engross you from the beginning to the end. You should definitely check it out. Roman will have you rooting for Lucas and Andrew’s HEA in no time!

Gotta Slow Clap It Out

I was certain that Andrew was the worst and I'd never be fond of him. It turns out, he IS the worst, but I'm fond of him. A sweet read with earned character growth and some GREAT revenge.
