Description

Francis Starkey appears to have reached the pinnacle of success. With a thriving career as a paediatrician and a picture-perfect life in London, he occupies a world of prestige and stability. Yet, beneath the polished exterior, he is haunted by a persistent hollowness that no accolade can reach. Enter Jack McAvoy, a gentle, aspiring dancer who has fled his small-town origins to chase a life in the city. Navigating the cold indifference of his brother’s apartment and the crushing pressure of his training, Jack is a man in survival mode, determined to forge his own path. When Francis and Jack collide, the result is instantaneous friction. Their initial hostility is merely a shroud for a magnetic, combustible tension that catches both men off guard. As an unexpected, fragile new responsibility enters Francis’s sphere, the walls they have meticulously built begin to crumble. Caught between professional duty and a blossoming, raw need for one another, they are forced to confront their deepest vulnerabilities. Collided is a poignant exploration of chosen family and the terrifying, beautiful risk of self-discovery. It is a story for anyone who believes that true healing only begins when you finally stop fighting the fear of being seen.

Swoon and more swooning!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars) Collided by Riley Harper was such an easy 5-star read for me. I completely fell in love with Francis and Jack and the journey they go on together. Jack is a dance student at a prestigious academy in London, and when he first meets the Blackbird Boys family, he immediately clashes with Francis. Francis is a pediatrician with the biggest heart, still carrying the weight of a difficult breakup with his longtime girlfriend. What really pulled me in was watching these two slowly move past their initial friction and begin to understand each other on a deeper level. The banter between them was genuinely one of my favorite parts. it felt natural, sharp, and full of chemistry. But beyond that, the emotional core of the story really stood out. Francis is faced with a life-changing situation, and seeing the way the Blackbird family shows up for him added so much depth and warmth to the story. This book balances softness and emotion so well. It has hurt/comfort, demi and bi representation, a small age gap, brother’s best friend vibes, and such a strong found family element. And yes… the leggings made their own kind of impact 😌 Overall, this was such a comforting, heartwarming read. The characters felt genuine, the relationships felt earned, and I couldn’t stop smiling by the end.

Be still my heart.

This book was just so adorably sweet. It was a fun, heartwarming romance that built from a strong dislike to a friendship and then to lovers. I loved how descriptive and the Brittish charming way things were written. I really liked all the characters, this close knit group of friends that frequent the same bar were just so much fun and gave all the found family vibes. Jack is just so unapologetically himself, and I loved his personality. He just shone so bright. Fran took a bit to coax out of his mopeyness, but once he did, his sweetness endeared me to him. Things took some time to develop and fall into place for the MCs to get into their arrangement, but once that ball got rolling, the book seemed to fly by. The moments they shared with Adele were so sweet. The tension between Francis and Jack was instantaneous and so delicious. I knew right from the moment they met it was going to be such a good slow burn build-up that was going to lead to a hard earned romance. Let me tell you, it was worth it and so satisfying. I was living for that banter and deep, heartfelt emotion. Unfortunately not my favorite :((

When I saw this book getting announced I was so excited to read it! I mean, the cover alone caught my interest but the blurb itself sounded interesting as well so I was excited to dive into it. Unfortunately I couldn't fully immerse myself into this story with these characters. I couldn't feel any chemistry between Jack and Francis, other than animosity.. You know how sometimes you can just feel the connection the MC's have? Or will have together? I just didn't get that from these two, it just felt like two puzzle pieces trying to get forced together that didn't fit. I will say that I thought the found family aspect was adorable and I loved how we got to see a softer side to the grumpy doctor during those sweet moments with his baby. While this can be technically read as a standalone, I'd suggest reading the prior book first and then reading this one. I didn't do that and I was a little lost when it came to certain moments being referenced. This is definitely just my personal opinion though, I've heard others raving about this story, and I'm so happy people are loving it!! I think that if you're thinking about reading this book, you should absolutely give it a go!

Francis & Jack

I’m pretty sure I became a better & happier person thanks to this book. This is the second book in the Blackbird Boys series and OMG it was PERFECT! In this book we meet Francis and Jack. From the very beginning they have explosive chemistry and that tension between them!!! Ughh, absolutely perfect 🥹 I went through all the emotions with this story, it made me giggle and kick my feet but also made me cry because omg Adele is truly a sweetheart and her story just broke my heart. And that beautiful ending!!! I mean I didn’t see it coming and I was in tears 😭 but also so so happy for our beautiful boys🥹🥹 If you like the found family & brother’s best friend tropes, this book is for you!!!! Thank you Riley for letting me be part of your team, I could never thank you enough for your friendship 🥹🩵

Sweet and fluffy romance

I love the found family vibe in this series so far! Jack and Francis are adorable together after a very grouchy beginning, and it was lovely catching up with the rest of the gang again from the first book, Entangled. Can't wait to see who's next!
