Description

Dax Miller is a man who thrives on predictability, order, and the comforting quiet of his secluded woodland home. As a professional recluse, he prefers the company of trees over the messy variables of human interaction. But everything he knows about his curated solitude is blown away when a sudden, chaotic storm deposits a gorgeous, soaking-wet stranger on his doorstep. Enter Julian, a man whose life is as vibrant and unpredictable as the tempest that stranded him. What begins as a forced survival situation quickly spirals into an unexpected domestic experiment that neither man is prepared for. As the rain beats down against the cabin walls, the friction between Dax’s rigid habits and Julian’s infectious spontaneity sparks a chemistry that is as undeniable as it is inconvenient. Stuck in the heart of the wilderness, the two must navigate far more than just the elements. Through witty banter, searing tension, and quiet, vulnerable revelations, they start to peel back the layers of their guarded pasts. Fae Quin delivers a delightful, slow-burn romance that proves sometimes the best things in life are the messy, unplanned disasters that happen when you finally stop trying to control the forecast.

Loved It in Print, Loved It in Audio Just As Much

I already read Cloudy with a Chance of Bad Decisions last year and loved it, so the moment the audiobook released on 2/10 I spent the Audible credit I had been saving specifically for it. I ended up listening right away and just took way too long to actually sit down and write this review because I fell for Alex and Georgie all over again. Georgie is this anxious, prickly overthinker and Alex is pure big, affectionate chaos energy who has absolutely no concept of personal boundaries with Georgie, and listening to them orbit each other during a chaotic family wedding week had me smiling nonstop. Their relationship feels messy and tender at the same time, full of pining, caretaking, and “why are you like this” moments that slowly turn into something soft. The narrators matched the voices I imagined perfectly, so the humor landed even better and the emotional moments felt even stronger in audio. The romantic and spicy scenes especially were a whole experience hearing them acted out. I already adored this story when I read it, but the narration elevated both the emotion and the comedy and I immediately restarted it once I finished. I loved the audiobook just as much as the book and highly recommend it.

4.5 stars and all the yeses

To be honest, I'm partial to Quin's fantastical books (looking at you Spooky Boys), so I wasn't sure what I'd get from a Quin Contemporary Romance. Well, I'm glad I took the chance. CWACOBD is an absolute winner! A top MM read for me this year, for sure (and I'm almost 100 deep). Where to start... Character. Quin has an absolute talent to write characters that are believable, lovable and 100% relatable. And that's what happened here. Alex and George have backstories, they have trauma, they have lives they live day in and day out, they have personality. They also have families and friends -- some of which are side characters and absolutely deserving of their own books (and I am SO happy that one of them is actually happening!). They're characters you want to know--and think you do. Another thing I want to call out is Quin's approach to our trans character, Jules. For me, her take was beautiful. Quin doesn't center Jules' character around being trans but she doesn't ignore it either. Instead, she weaves it into Jules' identity in a way that felt refreshingly unforced. Jules' "transness" doesn't need to be justified. She just exists, fully. Like every character is given the space to do. To me, that kind of subtle, lived-in representation is rare. 100% loved this. Plot. I was concerned about a "bring me into the woods and force me to be near you" trope. It's been done and those I've read have not worked out well... this was anything but a let down. I absolutely LOVED the…

I wont accept apology pickles if you don't read this meow

She said there will be hurt X comfort, She said slightly enemies to lovers, She said only one tent & forced proximity. And she gave us this all and way more than I expected. I'm a very heavy Fae Quin reader and fan, but I was not expecting how emotional this book was. Both Alex and George have really rough backstories, that share a lot of similar things. Crappy Exes, self worth/ self esteem low & putting up a façade around those they love. The way Fae broke down each of their stories was truly beautiful. Their stories unravel at different times during the book, giving each baby their own time to lay out their issues. And here is where the comfort comes in with warm blankies, snackies and cuddles. The character development was brilliant imo. The boys make you feel so emotionally connected and invested in their fake dating-only one tent- constant banter- mettling family drama. These two really had to learn how to trust in order to slowly heal themselves. They really needed each other to figure out the best parts of themselves throughout the book. The spice was....dear god... fire alarms. The spice and kink was heavy, safe, connected, emotional and earth shattering. Fae really outdid herself with this book, as it has a lot more spice then previous books. And it wasn't spice just to spice. No, these babies needed the spice to bond themselves together and give each other what they have always wanted. The trope list is honestly massive and I love every single item on it.…

SO GOOD!! ❤️

Read on KU. Absolutely adored this book!! Reading the blurb I knew I was in for a good time but I wasn't expecting to love it so much and I'm so glad I abandoned the other book I was on to finish this one because it was so so so good! George is such a grumpy and anxious cat personified and Alex literally the energy bound dog who constantly needs and wants in their personal space. Their chemistry is off the charts right from the start, literally the funniest first meeting with a handsome stranger that had me cackling and excited to see their progress. Everyone in the book was indeed so loveable, from George and Alex to their family members (who are all riots lol) its just so enjoyable reading all their interactions. Their was so much emotion in this book, the main characters each struggle with their own inner issues of acceptance and self worth and it was just so relatable. The two have been hurt so bad in their pasts they're afraid to give love a chance and afraid of rejection from one another despite how deeply they clearly feel for one another. Reading them get so close was so amazing and I was literally dreading how their week long vacation was gonna end because they were so good together! The way both Alex and George helped one another overcome their insecurities and fears was so heartwarming. Seeing George grow more confident was so great and I kept cheering for him as he finally decided to do what made him happy. Both he and Alex were such sweethearts, I cannot…

5/5⭐ 4/5 🌶️

5/5 ⭐ 4/5 🌶️ Cloudy With A Chance Of Bad Decisions by Fae Quin was a wild ride I was not prepared for. It gave the necessary warning with keywords like kink & spicy but I went into it with a mindset of "don't they all." Not like this they don't. This was kink on a whole other level. The spice starts out almost right away and is fairly tame. It heats up quickly. Alex is the king of dirty talk and goes out of his way to learn about BDSM just for George. The spicy scenes continue on frequency & freakiness as the book goes on. If you are interested in heavy smut with your plot, this is a solid choice. But the plot is there too. Both Georgie & Alex don't feel worthy of love at the beginning of the story because they have both been in emotionally abusive relationships. Alex was made to feel like he was always going to be too much for someone and George was made to feel like he would never be enough. Together they make a perfect pair because they make each other feel normal, good and worthy of affection. Alex fusses over George to make him feel seen and George never thinks it's too much or that Alex is smothering him. Both main characters have amazing friends and family who help set them up. My favorite being their friend Roderick for no other reason than he is a Bisexual character who marries a woman during this book and nothing is called into question about his sexuality. No snide comments about how it must have just been a phase or that he will cheat on or leave his wife.…
