Description

At Oakridge Hospital, the holiday season brings more than just winter chills; it brings the high-stakes intensity of the NICU, where every heartbeat is a victory. Max Benson, a dedicated nurse known for her boundless empathy and knack for bending the rules, is the backbone of the unit. Her world is vibrant and chaotic, a sharp contrast to the sterile, calculated precision of Dr. Asha Patel. Asha is a brilliant neonatologist who keeps her walls high and her emotions locked away. To her, Max’s warmth is an unpredictable variable that challenges her carefully curated control. Their professional friction is legendary, until a critical medical emergency forces them into a tense, around-the-clock partnership. Amidst the rhythmic hum of monitors and the flickering glow of hospital Christmas lights, the professional barrier between them crumbles with a single, undeniable kiss. As the snow piles up outside, the two women find themselves caught in a complex dance of vulnerability. Max refuses to hide their connection in the shadows, while Asha struggles with the fear of being truly known. Can they balance the fragility of their patients with the terrifying risk of opening their own hearts? This steamy, emotional romance proves that sometimes the greatest miracles happen off-chart.

spicy & nice

The continuing saga of this hospital has a very Christmasy theme as a backdrop for love & caring. No romantic book would be worth reading without a little spice & drama. This has both!

What a beautiful heart warming story.

Grace Parks has delivered in the NICU! She is a finesse writer, so in tune with her setting. This challenging setting one often of sadness, has been taken on a ride to the happy side with love at Christmas. The characters are real in my heart. The angst of finally realizing life is better when one feels something for someone special, the anxiety of letting others in, for finally knowing your upbringing was not perfect. Than taking a chance on oneself can be a blessing, is so much more important in life! This is a great read!

Play it safe

Asha is a neonatal doctor and works with Max an RN. They are very different people wow Max loves Christmas, Asha is very cold and straightforward. When the relationship develops between them, problems arise. I found the plot very good and the character is excellent. This is a sweet love story and I recommend it to all romance readers.

Hot and sweet

If you grew up in the last 50 years, you can relate to these women and how the struggle to be true to ourselves continues. I’m so glad the younger ones still write positively.
