Description

Luca has spent his entire life playing it safe. Raised by his grandparents after his father walked out, he has internalized a single, suffocating rule: be good. Between maintaining his scholarship and hiding the haunting shadows of a past trauma, Luca has no room for mistakes. That is, until he crosses paths with Maddox Levine, a professor whose icy exterior is as impenetrable as his reputation is intimidating. Maddox has spent two decades carefully curating his isolation, keeping the world at a cold distance to protect a heart he long ago decided to shelf. But when Luca becomes his teaching assistant, the carefully constructed walls Maddox has built begin to crumble. What starts as a professional arrangement spirals into a magnetic, forbidden pull neither can deny. As their worlds collide, the lines between mentor and student blur, dragging them into a volatile and intense connection. Luca finds a dangerous kind of peace in Maddox’s possessive orbit, while Maddox discovers that his frozen heart has been waiting for someone like Luca to set it aflame. In a landscape defined by secrets and power dynamics, the two must decide if their desperate need for one another is worth risking everything they have worked so hard to build.

💜🎭You're the only person I know who makes me feel safe. I don't want to lose that🎭🖤

"I look back at the student still sitting on the blanket. He looks...fragile. Like the slightest breeze will break him. Jesus, but he's f****** perfect. Soft, f****** innocent." "I definitely want to be good for you. I mean...do good. Do a good job for you, Professor Levine. I want to do a good job. For you." "I know I'm a scary sonofa***** to most people, and it's not often I smile. But Luca is so f****** precious, it's hard not to." "I can shut your brain off if that's what you want. I can make it so you don't think about anything but the words I say to you. Do you want that?" "I'm not sure if that's going to be enough, but I know I want him too much to mess this up by trying to understand why I'm not enough to be worth more." "What is it about this man in my arms that makes me lose all sense of who I used to be? It's almost like my past never happened when he's around." "I don't know why, but you're the only person I know who makes me feel...safe. I don't want to lose that." "Oh, sweet Luca. My sweet, sweet Luca. God, I'd give you everything you've ever wanted. You just have to tell me and it's yours. I'd give you the f****** moon if you asked." "Something claws inside of me, telling me that I'll end up broken like last time, but I can't walk away. Not unless he tells me to." "He doesn't even realize how f****** adorable he is. He hunches his shoulders, trying to look invisible, but I can't help but notice him. It's like my eyes are drawn to him, no matter where…

Great sequel to Blitz'd.

It's a great nickname "Little Lamb" for Lucas. Just like "Dimples" was great for Zander in the previous book. It makes me wonder what Russ's will be. Anyway I really enjoyed this relationship of grumpy and not really sunshine till part way through the book when Lucas became the beautiful confident man that being with Maddox allowed him to become. Maddox was the perfect man to allow Lucas to feel safe not the way another made him feel. And Lucas was the perfect man to help Maddox tear down those walls he had from his last devastating relationship. The sex was beautiful and it had a great cockwarming scene, one of my favorite kinks. Lucas's grandparents were the best allowing some unconditional love that he needed as did Maddox's friend Crista. The villain was a great touch and karma is a witch! I really liked this series.

First book better. Good writing on this one

Kind of disappointed because the first book was unhinged it was funny. This one was more cute. Good writing but personally I don’t love age gaps when the younger person is so innocent and naive. Feels predatory no matter how nice the older one is. And no one gets that drunk that quickly, even from hard alcohol

Oh, he wants him alright

Luca had his bi-awakening listening to his college roommate and his boyfriend having a good time. As he's a pushover, he gets trapped into being a T.A. for Professor Levine, Maddox. Mad is a Dom and instantly wants and sees the sub Luca who had a bad experience previously with another professor. I'm pretty sure I must have a thing for college students with professors because I enjoyed this. Luca is a virgin, a hesitant, sometimes panic attack filled good boy who wants Mad badly but doesn't know what to do. Mad had a bad experience with an ex so doesn't want to get hurt again but is possessive and obsessed with Luca. It's hot, steamy and spicy all rolled into one with a pinch of darkness as a surprise.

I've been hearing so many good things about this book and was so excited to read it myself. The excitement and good reviews were well warranted!! These two authors are so talented on their own but when they put their writing talents together they create something that's absolutely dynamite!! I absolutely adored Luca, he's a total sweetheart and I can relate to him in a lot of various way. I liked how his character was represented and how the authors had his and Maddox's relationship develop slowly over time, and how it was a slow progression. I think that suited Luca's character in the best way as a faster paced relationship wouldn't have felt right given Luca's personality/experience. I thought Maddox was sweet as well in his own way, he's perceived as a major grump but those he cares about he cares for deeply. He may be a grump towards others but not to everyone. I appreciated how seriously he took communication and consent and how he always checked in with Luca before they did anything, during, and after. I thought that was really sweet and a good way to show how seriously he was taking Luca's comfort. One of my favorite parts of this story was seeing Luca's relationship with his grandmother, they had such a cute relationship!! I love that she sent Luca care packages full of homemade meals and was there for him no matter what, it was really endearing to read about. Also.. the part where Luca's grandmother calls him out on his stage freight was hilarious! Made me laugh…
