Beautiful healing journey ❤️🩹
This was such a beautiful, thoughtful, and emotional read. I felt so deeply for these characters and for everything they were going through. The writing is exceptional, and all topics in the story were handled with so much care, something I would always appreciate in CW books. Moon and Emerson have my entire heart.
Moon and Emerson are dealing with a lot and navigating it in their own way. They first met after a very intense traumatic experience, very unexpected, but with subtle interest for both to take notice of each other.
Emerson was so drawn to Moon’s sadness; it spoke to him, and he couldn’t help but want to be close to him.
These two have such an intense, emotional, beautiful healing journey. How their friendship started and how slowly Moon was able to open up and trust Emerson. Allowing himself to finally have someone there for him no matter how ugly and scary it could get.
Emerson was dealing with his grief and new surroundings; despite how overwhelming everything was, he was able to find solace in the company Moon provided. He was able to find love in such a magnificent person.
This story made me cry, laugh, and swoon. They are going to have such a special place in my heart with such an inspiring and healing story.

WHAT A BOOK!!
CW Scott writing is just freaking amazing.
Moon stole my heart. He has gone through so much in his life and seeing him finally open up and get help had the tears flowing.
Emerson was the perfect partner for Moon. I love how he protects Moon.
The overall story is so heart breaking. We have 2 broken men just trying to make it through life. Emerson was the cop that arrested Moon in book 1 of this series. Emerson saw Moon in the new town he moved to and never gave up on Moon. It was just beautiful.
I recommend you reading this book.
book gutted me!! It was raw, so emotional and all consuming. Moon has a heart of gold, his sole purpose is ensure that nothing happens to his family. He loves fierce and at times it is a little suffocating to his brothers and sister but he means well. He rather put on a mask of happy go lucky then let anyone see the pain he has been internalizing for years.
Emerson is the police officer that meets Moon on the worst night of his life. Whether it is coincidence or fate that puts both Moon and Emerson in the same town once again, Emerson is completely drawn to Moon and can see all the pain he is trying to hide from the outside world as he is suffering in silence as well with his own traumas. Emerson wants nothing more than to be there for Moon in any capacity Moon will allow his company.
These two broken souls journey to love and healing is so powerful. Emerson’s unconditional love of Moon is so pure he is the missing piece in a life he has been so desperately searching for. And Moon, sweet Moon is just a the ultimate protector. Emerson’s light and love is what Moon needs to heal the wounds that have been haunting him since he was 15 years old. This book is incredible. Along with Daisies in the Water, this is one of the best series I have ever read.
I adored his so much. These two are great. I knew he would be wonderful and I was right. A really good read with hard topics.
As I write this review, tears are welling in my eyes. The depth of emotion that fills me for these characters and the journey they went on in this book is insurmountable. From the moment that Moon and Emerson emerged onto the pages, I was enraptured. The complexity of their emotions—pain, sorrow, love, and happiness pulled me in as we journeyed through their story. To love people more than loving yourself is…heartbreaking. To put others' needs, protection, and happiness before your own. The value of someone’s life, the answer to the question “ who are you” is not dependent on what you do for others or who you are to other people…it’s who you are for you. The tears… they just kept coming because this story connected with me in so many ways. The pacing of Moon and Emerson’s relationship allowed for everything to flow organically and the depth of their connection to grow. The internal struggles that they both go through are so different and handled with so much care. Themes of loss, grief, Identity, healing, and family are so prevalent throughout this story. The family element made me want to call my older sister to thank her and hug her to show her appreciation. Moon is such a great brother but he is much, much more than that. Emerson is so full of love and light. They are a perfect puzzle coming together to be completed.
