This Anthology is filled with nine amazing stories spanning examples of bisexuality in relationships. As a bi+ person it always gives me such queer joy to read fantastic stories and characters that uplift my identity. Bisexuality can't equate to who we are in a relationship with. These spectacular authors have come together to show readers that there really is no limit to who we can love when we open our hearts!
💗 SOMETHING ABOUT US By Frances M. Thompson @francesmthompson
MM, Trans rep, Chronic illness rep
Dion and Benji's love story is inclusive on multiple levels. These sweet guys have both been through a lot in their lives, and definitely deserve this second chance at happiness together. The representation in this story is magnificent. It's apparent that Frances took great care to be authentic in her portrayal of Dion's transition as well as Benji's illness. This is a heartfelt story I will read again! Open door spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (3/5)
💜 THE TO-SCREW LIST By Julie Brydon @juliebrydonauthor
FF, Pansexual rep, Lesbian rep
Amber and Jade are the perfect friends to lovers! This sweet and spicy story is a best case scenario when friendship starts adding sexy benefits and how-to lessons. I loved these darling ladies and their sassy gay bestie Sky, who is as wise as he is hilarious. I'll come back to this stupendous sapphic tale again and again! Open door spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (4/5)
💙 EXPERIMENTAL AFFECTION By S.C. Muir @scmuir.author
MX, Nonbinary rep, Migraine…
Great collection of bi love!!
I have broken down my thoughts by each story:
Something About Us
This was such a cute story about two men reconnecting after growing as people. There was a lot of representation packed in this novella: trans rep, black queer man, bi rep (of course), and chronic illness rep. I particularly enjoyed reading abuot Crohn's disease becuase it really opened my eyes. I don't read a lot of chronic illness rep, but that has changed recently, and I feel like it's a great way to understand what it's like to not be able bodied. I also enjoyed the forced proximity trope and the dual timeline. The spice was really good too!
The To-Screw List
I love a good sapphic story, and this friends-to-lovers was perfect! I loved Jade and her lists. She defintely gave off some neurodivergent vibes, and I loved it! The spice was great, and I loved the chemistry between them. And of course I loved Sky. He was the best side character haha The one thing I didn't like was the fact that Amber had no faith in Jade's flirting abilities 😭😭😭 Overall though, I really enjoyed this novella and devoured it!
Experimental Affection
STEM romance?!? Sign me up!! I was really excited about this novella, and I loved the tension and chemistry between Ash and Luke. However, the conflict in the story felt easily resolved. Like they could've just talked to HR and I was getting a bit frustrated, so I DNF'ed. I will say that S.C. Muir has developed though!
Love On the Airwaves
I also DNF'ed this one because I didn't…

Meaningful bi-stories with relatable, loving characters...
Oh, my gosh! I love this collection of stories. It's refreshing to see some bi-stories. Being bi/pan myself, it's not as often as you think. The authors and editors were so thoughtful in letting the readers know about what each story had to offer. I didn't have a lot of time, but I read three of the stories so far. I can't wait to read the rest.
My favorite thus far is the very first. Dion and Benji's story is so relatable for those of us with chronic illnesses (in particular those that hit our GI tract) and dealing with not only embarrassment but trying to fit-in and misunderstandings that rip our relationships apart. Finding someone who is willing to accept you for everything you bring to a relationship (the good, the bad, the ugly) is so difficult but magical when it happens. I felt so drawn to this one.
So far, I've also read Experimental Affection completely and enjoyed the characters so much - Ash and the sense of feeling left behind? Yeah. Also Petty Roots. Yes, I'm one of those who skip around, sorry.
Anyway, I am not going to change my mind on the stars, because if the other stories are as character-driven and meaningful as those I've finished, the anthology earned it.

So much love packed into bite-sized stories
What an incredible project to have 9 Bi+ authors share their 9 novellas features Bi+ characters! As someone who identifies as Pansexual, I value seeing diverse love in all its forms and to see the real and believable scenarios for folx. The writing was great, the characters were believable and loveable. Plus, these are bite-sized stories, which are the perfect compliment to help offset the messiness of life.
4.5 stars - enjoyable variety
An anthology is often a mixed bag. However, with its tight “mission” of sharing stories about bi+ characters falling in love, Bi the Way: I Love You gets mostly good marks. All the stories, except one, were well-developed novellas. Characters identified in a wide variety of ways and the pairings are identified at the start with the nomenclature FF, FX, XX, FFM, MM, MF, etc, and the stories included content notices to allow a reader to select the type of story to read without surprises. The majority of the stories feature bi+ persons who identify as female, non-binary leaning female or genderfluid, again leaning into feminine energy. Except for one bi-awakening character in “The To-Screw List” by Julie Brydon, their identities are firmly established, even if some other characters are not supportive of that.
While many of the stories feature characters in the new adult range (18-25), as is typical of the romance genre in general, “Petty Roots” by Cozy DuBois, and “Do It for the Plot” by Rochelle Wolf, have characters whose lives could be considered well-established. Both also feature wonderfully drawn non-binary main characters, in Eris and Blake (Petty Roots), and Iris (Do It for the Plot). “Good Things Come in Unexpected Packages” by Amelia Lascaux has my all-time favorite type of date: let’s go out, talk books, and read.
All the stories, except for the short story teaser “Love on the Airwaves” by MK Owens, have complete romance arcs and well-conveyed sex on the page…
