Description

Three best friends. One night at the bar. A lifetime of secrets finally hitting the breaking point. For years, Leo, Sam, and Jax have navigated the delicate dance of friendship while harboring feelings that go far beyond platonic. Leo wears his heart on his sleeve, constantly pushing his friends to see what is right in front of them. Sam keeps his emotions shielded behind a wall of caution, terrified that admitting the truth will shatter the only family he has ever known. Then there is Jax, the wildcard who bridges the gap between them, sensing the electric tension that sparks whenever they are together. When the drinks start flowing and the inhibitions drop, the lines they have carefully drawn begin to blur. This is a story about the messy, beautiful reality of discovering that you do not have to choose between the people you love. It is a celebration of identity, the courage it takes to be vulnerable, and the heat that ignites when three people finally stop pretending. If you crave a spicy, heartfelt exploration of polyamory where the chemistry is off the charts and the bond between friends turns into something permanent, this is your next obsession.

Great characters and lots to love

Three bisexuals walk into a bar: One wears their heart on their sleeve (and has the tattoo to prove it); The second keeps their heart shielded, which is a barrier to their happiness; The third ended their romantic relationship and then came back as a friend after changing their gender. There is spice in the book and some Dominant/submissive kink, but there is more talk about sex than the actual act itself. At least, that is the impression this book gave me. The question of: "If we have sex, how will that affect our friendship?" is a theme, but more than that, the question of: "If we admit our love for each other, how will that affect our lives?" is the theme that struck me most. I bought this book after reading the author's posts on SM and am glad I did. I found this an enjoyable quick read with lots of humor infused into the relationship angst. I loved all the characters, including the fourth bisexual in the bar, and love the fact that all found their HEA. I'm sure I'll be adding more to my TBR by this author. Review by R. E.
