Description

The Phoenix Ridge Valkyries are skating on thin ice. With a billionaire owner breathing down their necks and a singular shot at qualifying for the premier women’s hockey league, the stakes couldn't be higher. For team captain Lou Calder, life is defined by rigid discipline and iron-clad control. She’s the anchor the team needs, and she has no intention of letting anything—or anyone—derail their championship pursuit. Enter Camille Laurent-Dubois, the team’s flashy new superstar. With a high-profile past and a magnetic presence that draws every camera lens in the arena, Camille is the living embodiment of chaos. While Lou operates in shades of tactical precision, Camille is an unpredictable spark, and their immediate, explosive tension is as undeniable as it is inconvenient. As the pressures of the season mount, their professional friction rapidly morphs into something far more intimate and intense. Forced to operate in the shadows to protect their careers and the team's future, they find themselves caught in a high-stakes tug-of-war between their professional obligations and an irresistible pull. In a world where every move is scrutinized, Lou and Camille must decide if crossing the line is worth losing their game—or if it’s the only way to win at love.

Expanding character types

Riding the wave of women's hockey. Glad to have a new sports series to read, especially adding masc female characters who don't have flowing hair, wear dresses and heels.

Sports Romance

Great book. Loved all the characters. The team was more like a family... so sweet. I'm going to start book 2 now.

Meh

As much as I enjoyed some of the authors other offerings, this one bored me. I'm a big fan of hockey and all things sapphic but I found myself just skimming pages and reading only the dialogue.

Favorite sport

I really loved this book. It's about time someone wrote about hockey. It's my favorite sport. I like them steamy too.
