Description

Laura is New York’s most formidable criminal defense attorney, a woman who navigates the cutthroat world of justice with icy precision. She is used to dealing with monsters in the courtroom, but she is entirely unprepared for the one currently stalking her every move from the shadows. Harley, a glamorous Hollywood starlet with a public facade of charm, hides a gruesome, blood-soaked truth beneath her celebrity veneer. To the outside world, she is a darling of the silver screen; to Laura, she is a persistent, obsessive nuisance. After a chance encounter at an exclusive queer club, Harley decides that Laura is the only prize worth claiming. What begins as a spark of infatuation quickly devolves into an all-consuming, terrifying fixation. As Harley orchestrates a web of manipulation to dismantle the walls around Laura’s heart, she stops at nothing to possess the lawyer—body and soul. This is a twisted game of power and vulnerability where the hunter and the hunted are never clearly defined. In the high-stakes dance of the Club Pétale universe, desire is a dangerous weapon, and for these two women, love isn't just blind—it’s deadly.

It just felt rushed

The beginning was great and it kinda just skowly faded as I got deeper into the book. Lots of loose ends, it could have been longer, explored more, it wasn't an amazing plot line either. Its a short read, just didn't live up to my expectations of it from videos I've seen on it.

Stalking and Murder and more?

This story was dark and twisted and great! Laura and Harley go from stalking to murders to love? This dark romance checks so many boxes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This was borderline instant love. Not my favorite trope. Overall I would say this book was ok. It felt like if Dexter Morgan and Joe Goldberg had a kid and named her Harley. Didn’t feel like any character development happened. Laura was so against Harley at the beginning, but was obsessed with her after basically 2 days together in Hawaii…. I liked the character crossovers from the authors other stories. You get to see Ax, Sloan, and a few others pop up in this one. Definitely a quick read and maybe that’s why I felt the story was rushed only 214 pages. I recommended this if you’re looking for something short, spicy, and to the point. Eden Emory has some great books check out the original Club Petale series. That series has the same vibe as this one stalker, taboo, and unaliving. Definitely recommend if you’re a fan of the author but if you’re a first time reader you should definitely start with the previously mentioned series.

Personal favorite story of 2026

I'd give this story more stars if I could. The writing was amazing and really helped me feel so intensely immersed into the story, more than other adjacently related genres to this story, and I have read a lot of them. So please, keep up the amazing work.
