I was saving this series for the week before Halloween and after book 1 I’m already obsessed 😍 I never thought a dystopian book filled with zombies, gore, and death would make me feel all swoony but here we are 🤣 First of all Aubrey and Pheonix are the definition of perfectly imperfect. They are both trying their best with the world they live in. After constantly been putting through so much, Aubrey is essentially a thrill seeker who is chasing death and destruction to make turn of his mind and feel any kind of peace. Pheonix sees this in him and becomes that lifeline that Aubrey needs. He makes him feel alive but more than that he brings life to him through soft touches and sweet moments just as much as his aggression 🥹 Their chemistry is OUTSTANDING ❤️‍🔥🥵 I couldn’t get enough of their spicy scenes and how raw they were. It was so much more than just sex. Their emotions played out in those scenes so much it felt like I could feel what they were feeling. The first soft moment truly melted my heart 🖤 As hard as they both fought to keep things surface level between them, the connection they form is honestly nothing short of amazing. They’ve both been so much pain and suffering but now they have each other to lean on 🫶🏻

My first zombie dark dystopian fantasy read and honestly I loved it. It was more romance but in a broken world of lost and pain. I thought Aubrey was soft but he was the opposite. Hard to let anyone in and I felt his pain. Phoenix, the dominant leader, the ruthless killer was actually soft when it came to Aubrey. Their relationship how it started from possessive ended in love. I definitely recommend this if want a good MM romance in a dark setting.
