Description

Blake Harlan has his life mapped out with surgical precision. As a rising star in the Junior French Open, he is the project of a demanding father and the polished golden boy of American tennis. He has the perfect girlfriend and a carefully constructed mask to hide who he truly is. But all of that threatens to shatter the moment he locks eyes with Andre Moreau across the net. Andre is everything Blake isn’t: rugged, raw, and unapologetically grounded. For Andre, tennis isn’t just a game; it is an escape from the grueling reality of his life as a baker. He views Blake’s privilege with disdain, fueled by a scorching rivalry that turns every match into a battlefield. Yet, the more they fight, the more the lines between hatred and obsession begin to blur. As they chase tournament glory across the globe, their animosity gives way to an undeniable, electric connection that neither can suppress. Trapped by expectations, external relationships, and the fear of exposure, the two rivals must decide if their connection is worth burning their carefully curated lives to the ground. In a world where keeping the score matters most, winning their own hearts might require the greatest sacrifice of all.

Finding Your Truth: Living Your Truth: The Journey Is Never Easy If You Stay Honest To Yourself

★★★★★ A Love Story That Hits Harder Than Any Match Point Across The Net is not just a sports novel—it’s an emotional experience that stays with you long after you finish the last page. From the very beginning, this book pulls you back to that unforgettable feeling of first love—the intensity, the vulnerability, the fire that makes everything else fade into the background. It’s written with such authenticity that you don’t just read it… you feel it. Set against the high-stakes world of elite junior tennis, the story follows two rising stars competing on the biggest stages around the world. The matches are gripping, the pressure is relentless, and the pursuit of greatness is real—but what truly sets this book apart is what happens off the court. This is a deeply human story about identity, self-worth, and the courage it takes to live your truth in a world that doesn’t always make that easy. The character development is exceptional. You watch these young athletes grow—not just stronger and more confident in their game—but more aware of who they are and who they’re becoming. That evolution is powerful… and at times, honestly, a little scary. Because the belief they begin to build in themselves is so strong, so undeniable, that you know it’s going to come at a cost. And it does. The emotional tension in this book is incredible. The relationship between the two main characters is written with such depth and realism that you can’t help but become completely invested in their…

Break free

The two tennis players couldn't be more different, Blake is privileged, funded, coached; while Andre is raw and barely able to afford equipment to play. When the two meet on the court for the first time, it was a battle that neither could forget. Their feelings were confusing, new and forbidden. Hiding their relationship from the world created stress and conflict. Both were stuck in their own cage of expectations dictated by family and sponsors. Making it on the pro circuit could cost them everything if their relationship becomes public..

Don’t waste your time!

Terrible book, poorly written, pushing agendas. I would not recommend this book to anyone. Don’t waste your time.

Book Review: Across the Net

Across the Net by Phoenix Vale was such an enjoyable read. The rivals-to-lovers chemistry felt natural and full of tension, and the tennis setting added a lot of excitement without taking away from the emotional depth. The characters were flawed, believable, and easy to root for. I especially loved the banter and slow-building connection between them. A great pick for anyone who enjoys emotional sports romances with strong chemistry and heart. If you’re looking for a quick, juicy read, I recommend this book.

Rivals turn into Lovers

This is a love story between two rival tennis players. One rich American-The other a French Baker rivalry turn into love. This was full of twist and turns, tennis matches, secrets, sex, destruction, wars on the courts, losses and gains and rebuilding of lives. As a tennis fan this was a nice read.
