It left me in SUCH a good mood and I devoured it SO fast. Are. The. Best. With all that as context, it's no surprise I flew through this and immediately added Emmy Sanders to my list of auto-buy authors. Brad and Joey were everything. There was pining, a tiny little bit of angst, plenty of "d'oh" moments, and alllllll of the things up there with a little heart next to them. It got into cavity-inducing levels of schmoop by the end and, really, who doesn't love a little bit of that every once in a while? But along with all that, if you're paying attention, you'll read between the lines when it comes to our sweet Brad. On the page he's over-the-top and seems one-note, but there's more to him. You see it in how his best friend interacts with him, the endless patience he and the others who are in Brad's circle have for him, even in how Brad interacts with the parental figures who show up. Oh, Brad, you sweet precious summer child. How do you not fall head over heels for this character?! Brad and Joey’s story is simple, sweet, and fun. Zero angst. Minimal plot. Just lighthearted and sometimes steamy fun. The inner dialogues are hysterical. This book is full of puns and innuendos. Good read if you need to get over a heavy story.

All I knew going into this book was that it was meant to be funny and often recommended to those looking for a book that would leave you feeling happy. And it accomplished this with flying colours. I adored this book. Yes, it was hilarious and addictive. But it also had so much heart. I loved Brad and Joey. This book felt like a warm queer hug for my brain. It was sweet, and lovely, and yes, also deliciously spicy. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to go back and reread it. If you’re looking for some escapism from real life, or just need a book that’ll leave you smiling, then I highly recommend this one. The audio was also brilliant and worth a credit.

What can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? Probably nothing, so I'm not going to sift through and figure it out, I'm just going to reiterate what I loved about it even if it's been said a hundred times over. First off, it's hilarious, all the way through. The author even takes a moment that's usually omitted and left to the reader's imagination and it's put right there on page in the most hilarious manner and an internal monologuing stare-down sequence that had me in stitches. Brad is probably one of the most resilient characters I've ever had the pleasure of reading. He'd really been given all the ingredients to become a completely different kind of person than he did. He could have been closed off, hesitant, distrusting, keeping an arm's length, but instead he chose to grab life by the horns and just be happy. Bright smiles, open-hearted affection, all love and happiness and open honesty. I loved how easily and whole-heartedly he gave, and it made Joey's character all the more powerful to me, because Joey never thought twice about giving just as much as Brad did. Never tried to change him or settle him down, just took his enthusiasm and embraced it. He gave Brad all the things Brad had been missing in his life and that made this story so much more than just a comedy for me. This will definitely be a comfort re-read. Big hearts, hilarious banter, found family, and men enthusiastically falling in love with each other. What more could anyone ask for?

I was looking for a light read and found it in this book. This book will have you laughing in no time. However, I did feel the some parts were over the top and made me skim them. Overall it was a good book.
