Absolutely beautiful story

This book is so different and absolutely beautiful from any other book I have read. This gave me all the emotional roller coaster , heartache, happiness, laughter, all of it and I would read it again and again. Brady and Zach meet under sad circumstances and become best friends at an early age and grow up together. Brad is so protective over Zach after everything that has happened to Zach. They have always loved each other but never acted on it until they were adults. They grow together and love each other the entire time and learn about themselves as they get older. Brady is a little more confused about himself and takes him a little more time to figure himself out but he gets there! This story is absolutely wonderful and Connor and Kelly are the most precious friends ever! Would love to read their story too. This is the perfect small town romance that you definitely need to read.

Wonderful hurt/comfort, coming of age, LGBTQ+ story

You're My Home was my third book in 2024 and I already had my first mini book-hangover. I stumbled on it in December last year. It was a recommendation in an MM FB group. I asked specifically for a story with the vibe where a boy knew early in his early childhood that he'll marry his best friend. And You're My Home by Author Katie Moore just hit home. It's a slow-burn, coming off age story that broke my heart and mended it at the same time. I had tears streaming down my face, some from a broken heart and some from happiness. I missed Brady and Zach (and Connor, Kelly, Honey, the Family) instantly as soon as I finished the book. This hurt/comfort story takes you on an about 5 year journey of friendship, love, found family and self-discovery, thinking you know the characters your whole life. Yes, sometimes I questioned the relationship between Zach and Brady. It was strong and deep right from the beginning and at times it felt unhealthy for both (too strong, too deep). Unhealthy like one depending on the other too much. Yet, at the same time it also made totally sense, because of what they went through. Their dynamic is something special, something only they will understand. If you are up for a wonderful hurt/comfort, coming of age, LGBTQ+ story, I highly recommend picking up Brady and Zach's book!

Sweet. Intimate. Fairytale like. Lots of stereotypes. 3.5 Stars rating.

You're My Home is the debut novel by Katie Moore. A very moving , slow burn, emotional , heart wrenching, passionate, tender, poignant, beautiful and very , very, very long story that gave me ALL THE FEELS. Even though its written with lots of empathy, compassion and love that it pours out from the pages until reader is all but emotionally attached and involved with the characters and their journey, there's so much stereotyping that it cancel lots of the good stuff in the story. I am reviewing it from the point of view of this being , a first time published writer , epic , larger than life fairytale, YA/NA romance... think Disney on steroids. Where the villains are seriously wicked , get punished for their bad deeds. Where good people and good actions will always wins in the end. In other words, a fairy tale. But I wish story wasn't as long , as it slow the pace down, and at times was repetitive . That said, I understand why author felt necessary to go into so much every day detail, this being her fist novel et all. Hopefully, with her next one , she will show more restraint and editing. Another thing...I was taken aback by the amount of stereotyping, particularly related to whom is a top and/or bottom according to their body type. As, if one is a Twink , one must be a bottom and if one is tall muscular and athletic , one must be a top, regardless. This author has a lot of potential and growth, her storytelling and style are solid and appealing. I am looking forward…

A long emotional journey!

Zach is a tiny and tenderhearted teen that has been neglected by his parents for most of his life, his family is a strict religious Kristian family that believes that being homophile is a creation of the devil themself. So when Zach’s father catches him one morning trying to go out of their home with a book about a gay couple, he gets punished physically for it by his dad that will use any measure of violence to keep his son in line as he does not want a gay son and is really strict on his upbringing. After he has been punished Zach runs to the nearby forest out from the sight of his parents where he breaks down from the physical pain, that's where he meets Brady that just have moved to town with his family, and fast after an evergrowing friendship starts to bloom and they both promises each other to be forever. But will Brady be his friend if he finds out his secret? Zach and Brady come from completely different social and religious backgrounds but they don’t let their differences stop them from being friends. This book is filled with angst, homophobic violence, and bullying, and depicts a realistic view into how many children or teens on a daily basis have it when a family can’t accept their sexuality. But it's also a story about coming out and how it sometimes takes way longer for a person to realize it. I know a few people I have spoken with said they weren’t happy with how long it take Brady to come out and find his real sexuality. But I kinda get it as my own…

An emotional, divine novel & audiobook which I adore!

I absolutely adore every single thing about this book! The story, all the characters, the writing, everything. I laughed and I cried. And everything in between. I immediately reread it and now it’s in my reread/keepers collection. Also my relisten/keepers collection because I have the Audible audiobook, which I love too! I’ve relistened to this wonderful story as well. And the narrator, Adam Gold, is now one of my favorite narrators. He’s perfect. The only thing I wish is that the author would write more! But I’m not complaining. Thank you Katie Moore for this divine book.
