Rebecca did it again. At this point... who is even surprised? She is an insta buy author for me, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
This book was an interesting mix between 'Man on' and 'The try line' but in the best way.
Silas' & Gideon's story is the perfect example of "it's always been you." They are freaking soulmates, and no one can convince of that.
The Forbidden element in this one was so interesting to follow, at least for me. I loved how it was emotionally problematic, but not physically. Idk how to explain this properly without spoiling it, so... you'll have to trust me, bro 😅. I think you will understand once you read the book.
Lily and Addy were absolutely perfect, and their presence in the story was the icing on the cake. I loved every moment they were showing up on page, and never felt like they were taking away from the action, en contraire, I think it added so much depth to everything that was going on.
I advise you to check the TW because there are some things in here that could make you uncomfortable. Just to be on the safe side, if you use to have triggers, check them.
The religious aspect of the story was what had me on edge whenever mentioned. This story shows once again what religious trauma looks like and how it can affect people long term. It shows the struggles one has to go through to live a normal life after being brainwashed. It is not an easy topic to read, and I bet it is not easy to write it either. Maybe I'm biased because…
Messy Secrets, Slow Truths 🤐🔥
This book really leans into the “secrets ruin everything” trope, and wow… it delivers the chaos from the very beginning.
Silas and Gideon’s story is built on layers of miscommunication, hidden truths, and years of emotional baggage. The tension is strong, especially with the forced proximity and shared past, and I was hooked early on trying to piece everything together.
What worked for me was the emotional core. You can feel how much history they have, how deeply things were left unresolved, and how hard it is for both of them to face the truth. When they finally start talking, it is satisfying and long overdue.
That said, the biggest frustration is exactly that, the lack of communication. So many problems could have been avoided if the characters had just been honest earlier. Lily’s refusal to reveal the truth, especially when it was clearly hurting everyone around her, felt unnecessarily dragged out and at times hard to justify. It added drama, yes, but also made parts of the story feel repetitive and a bit exhausting.
I did enjoy the twists, especially toward the end. The story kept me guessing, even if I expected something more dramatic behind certain secrets. The emotional payoff was still there, even if the reasoning behind some decisions did not fully land for me.
Overall, this was a messy, drama-filled read with strong emotional tension and a satisfying resolution, even if it tested my patience along the way. Not my favorite in the series, but still a solid and…
mainly became I’m not into religion at all; plus, it took FOREVER to get to the couple actually getting along. The religious aspect of things and secrets took up too much time for me to enjoy the little love i received between the HH

Another incredible addition to this phenomenal series!

🌶🌶🌶
Another incredible addition to this phenomenal series! Rebecca Rathe is one of my go-to, one-click authors, and Wrap Around is yet another perfect example of why she holds that spot on my shelf. Every single book she writes feels like coming home, and this story gave me all the feels in the best way possible.
This one had everything I love—just the right amount of angst, a beautifully imperfect found family, hockey that feels like its own character, and a happily ever after that was messy, raw, and so worth the fight.
Silas and Gideon’s story is a breathtaking friends-to-enemies-to-lovers second-chance romance. Childhood best friends torn apart by one huge misunderstanding, three years, five months, and eighteen days, and exactly 1,852 miles worth of heartbreak and secrets. And when life finally brings them back together, the past comes crashing down on them both in a powerful, soul-deep way.
I adored how patient and steady Silas was, even when Gideon wasn’t ready to meet him halfway. Silas fought for Gideon in quiet, relentless ways—even when Gideon couldn’t see it, even when he didn't feel worthy of it. His love was raw, unshakable, and the very definition of unconditional.
Gideon’s journey broke my heart and put it back together again. Years of repressed self-hatred, driven by a strict religious upbringing, shaped him into someone who believed he wasn’t enough. Watching him slowly work through his pain and open himself up again—to Silas, to Lily,…
I very much enjoyed the first 15 to 20% of this book. After that , I felt like a lot of the issues kind of got dragged on , and it was really hard to keep my focus. I understand that Silas was lying about some things, but I did not like the way that the Gideon was acting towards him. I felt like the aggression was a little over the top. I absolutely loved Silas throughout the entirety of this book. He was just doing the best that he could do while still trying to keep everyone secrets. I also did not feel like some of Gideon's actions really fit the way his character was described in the struggles that he was going through. I really love how accepting and supportive Lily was, especially with the way that her and Gideon grew up, I loved her character she was so fun and so heartfelt. Usually, Rebecca absolutely kills it on the epilogues and this epilogue left me with so many questions, and I want to know what happened with Lily did she get her HEA? What did her HEA look like? I loved the characters but the story was just lacking.
