Description

In this searingly honest novella, Chloe Caldwell explores the consuming nature of obsession and the volatile landscape of a queer affair. The story centers on an intense connection that ignites quickly and burns with a dangerous, transformative heat, capturing the precise, breathless rhythm of a new relationship as it moves from curiosity into something far more complicated. Caldwell strips away the artifice of romance, delivering a narrative that feels startlingly real and raw. Through the lens of her protagonist’s evolving desires and vulnerabilities, she navigates the blurred lines between infatuation and self-discovery. The writing is visceral and unvarnished, pulling the reader into a world where boundaries dissolve and the stakes of intimacy are profoundly high. This is a bracing study of longing and the chaotic intensity of being fully seen by someone else. By documenting the fragility of these human attachments, the book speaks to the universal ache of wanting more than we can safely hold. Perfect for those who appreciate character-driven stories that favor emotional truth over polished resolution, this novella serves as a sharp, unforgettable mirror for anyone who has ever lost themselves in the orbit of another.

Amazing and emotional (in a good way)

I started reading this book this morning and finished it this evening: amazing and gentle queer read. Caldwell does an excellent job painting the story in such a way that the reader is easily able to fall in love with the love interest, Finn, and just as easily able to develop an immense hatred and longing for the character, as well as sympathy for the main character. I have highlighted many anecdotes for the book and pondered not only what Caldwell meant, but what the writings meant to me personally. This book will definitely grace my bookshelf over the years and will appear dog earred and obviously well read. 10/10

This book is very good and interesting since tells the story of a straight woman who fall in love with a lesbian and shows a scenario almost unkown for most of the women. Straight women falling in love of Lesbian women.... yes, that's possible and Chloe Caldwell tells that so beautiful!

This is not a cookie cut novel!

Great literary style. Subtle character development. This book reads like the pages of a diary that has the understanding someone will read it. Eventually. Dialog is quaint and sufficient which I prefer. The main character is somewhat neurotic but too unaware to say such a thing. Despite being in the LGBTQ genre, this book is more about finding love where one had not looked before. Gender could easily be replaced with race which is for some, still another taboo.

I thought this was a King James Version of the Bible with emphasis on Women in the Bible. It has proven to be more than that.

A timely read

"Women" arrived in my life just when I needed such a book. I needed to know that the obsession, the glory, the pain was all part of it. And that it is all good and all bad. And then good or bad ceased to matter. It's just women in love, like a storm is just a storm, like a rainbow is just a rainbow. Miraculous, awesome, but natural.
