Description

In the decaying, lawless corners of Detroit, Zain Rashid has traded his police badge for a vigilante’s blade. Leading a hardened crew of ex-military operatives, he exists to dismantle the human trafficking networks the city has abandoned. Zain is a man of cold, methodical precision, operating under one ironclad rule: never get attached. Everything shifts the night he clears out a hellish Delray warehouse and finds Seth. Half-starved and hardened by a lifetime of systemic abuse, Seth isn't looking for a savior—he’s looking for a weapon. He refuses to be a rescued victim; he wants to be part of the fight. As Seth claws his way into Zain’s inner circle, their initial clash of wills rapidly ignites into a volatile, unavoidable obsession. But Detroit’s shadows hold secrets that stretch all the way to the top of the police force. As the duo pulls back the layers of a sprawling conspiracy, the boundary between their mission and their desires blurs. In a world where trust is a liability and violence is the only language that matters, Zain and Seth must decide if they are willing to risk everything—not just for justice, but for each other.

Errors

The KU version has a ton of repeated paragraphs or paragraphs out of order. I don’t know about the hard copy but I’d love to read it when the text gets fixed. I got half way through before I couldn’t read anymore. It’s like every other chapter I think I missed something then I realize it’s out of order or I read something twice and get confused.

Weight of Ruin

What a great book. I grew up in the Detroit area and knew all the places talked about in this book. Even though the characters are fiction trafficking is not. This is a story that needed to be told. This was in my opinion was very Well written and I am looking forward to the ones that follow.
