Description

Eden Sawyer has two major life goals: survive high school and avoid physical exertion at all costs. Naturally, the universe decides to sabotage these plans when she ends up tethered to Sloane Bishop for gym class. Sloane is everything Eden isn't—the picture-perfect cheer captain, an overachiever with an aura of relentless optimism, and, unfortunately for Eden, the girl she’s been silently pining for since freshman year. Tasked with completing a mandatory walking program, the two find themselves stuck on the track together for hours. While Sloane views their laps as a chance to bond, Eden sees them as a tactical disaster. The proximity is torture, the conversation is electric, and the lack of coordination between their growing feelings is becoming increasingly impossible to ignore. As they trade barbs and navigate the awkward intensity of their growing connection, both girls must contend with the realization that they’ve been orbit-locked for years without ever saying a word. Walk With Me is a sharp, witty dive into the chaos of teenage attraction. It’s a heartfelt romp featuring misread signals, forced cardio, and the exhilarating, terrifying thrill of finally stepping out of your comfort zone to walk beside the person you want most.

Excellent beginning.

I have read most of Alyson Root's novels and have enjoyed every one of them. Although this age group is not one I normally read, I did not hesitate. Alyson is such a talented author, I had no doubt she would handle the topic of first love with the same finesse and caring she brings to all her books. Sloan and Eden were perfect together. I am a big fan of both characters telling their points of view. It adds so much more to their story. This is an excellent beginning to the new series and I look forward to following these characters as they grow and navigate life. Btw, love the title and it's meaning throughout the book.

Nice.

4.5 🌟 This is a YA book that doesn’t feel like one. The characters are seniors in high school with good, loving families. Eden seems really mature for her age, not letting jealousy bother her the way I think most high school kids would if they were in her position. Sloan is an over achiever who has to overcome some anxiety. The way things developed organically, was really nice. Very low angst, other than Eden’s younger sister. Really enjoyed this book ad am looking forward to the next one.
